I agree and have one you missed. Although it probably didn't matter the jets had two timeouts left when facing that 4th down with about 1:30 left. I know it wouldn't have been much time but who knows. They should have just called the play without the timeout. Like I said not huge but who knows.

    Too Early For Two

Much too early to go for the two...then you are chasing it the rest of the game. Big mistake. Not the only mistake that cost them the game -- but certainly one of many.
The big killer still is the loss to the bills.

Still looking like 8-8. Key (of course) is winning the top 4 (below)

    Jax
    Carolina
    Tampa
    Bills

    Cinci
    NE
    Indy
    Atlanta

Not to mention that we got fucked when we did score on the 2 point conversion a nd a BS illegal shift call negated the 2 points

Its like a fighter continually getting punch in the stomach. It might not knock him down immediately but when he does go down, he is not getting up. When he does he's gonna hurt a hell of alot wors then one punch on the button to the head.

If those 2 pt attempts worked he's a hero...they didnt so he's a goat. Even if he challenged the Best play we wouldnt have gotten the ball.

    We're 4-4

If we go 5-3 the rest of the way and Sanchez plays well...I'm happy

you cant argue results on plays like that. its a matter of do you go for it that early or not. i am of the school that you dont go for it so early.... then again many will disagree. and i understand that as long as it is for valid reason.

Ryan is a rookie coach. He will shine in days to come.

That's something many people have neglected to comment on... that would have allowed the Jets to kick a FG and send the game into OT as opposed to being forced to score the winning TD.

I didn't understand that call. Did they ever explain it?

Terrible decision using TOs at the end of the first half.

The challenge he said he got info Miami had recovered and he didn't have much time to make a decision there.

The 2 pt conv was an awful decision to go for it in the 3rd. We got saved w/ the penatly forcing us to kick after the 1st TD but not on the 2nd TD BUT we were saved when Sparano went for 2 which was the asinine call of the day.

Yeah it was stupid , but Sparano going for two and missing made the Jets 2nd 2 pt try the right call.

My big problem is why we didn't attempt to run it in for two points. I know Sanchez was playing well yesterday, but the strength of the team is on the ground.

I wholeheartedly disagree that the strength of this team is the ground game. With the exception of 2 games against absolute disasters of teams, the ground game has been somewhere south of proficient.

Would a run play have worked? Maybe, maybe not. We'll never know.

True. We will never know. But putting the game in a rookie's hands isn't always the best idea. Maybe it's my utter hatred of Schotty's predictability. Half the game I shout at the tele asking him to call something unexpected.

They played the %s, it's really difficult to run it in from the 2.

one of the few golden rules that some veteran coaches subscribe to is NEVER EVER EVER go for the 2 pt conv before the 4th quarter.....

But it would've been unexpected. That's my point.

Im not getting into the whole "2 point" debates. The way our defense was playing, their offense would not have come up with the 21 points that were scored elsewhere. Rex may have made a few questionable calls but a fumble by a rookie and a lack of execution on ST's -TWICE - is where the blame falls.

That's the point. I said it in the summer, he's gonna come back after the season and admit that he needs to be more of a head coach and stop acting like a DC tough guy. You can't let you OC make every single call without telling him to run or pass in certain situations.

I wish we had parcells as our OC hes a veteran coach who could help Rex learn certain small things that you need to do as a HC.
