Dude you are wasting your time. Only on this site can you get ridiculed for criticizing Drew Coleman, Eric Smith and Tim Tebow lol <---I've had 3 heated debates on this site and these were the 3 players they were about :breakdance: Incredible. Mind you, I still never said Tebow sucks. I said for what he brings to the table and what we are planning to use him for, we could have gotten an undrafted guy to run the wildcat. We didnt need to make this move. Not when Eric Smith is your safety and Wayne Hunter is your RT.
You're missing something, though. Tebow with the Jets is not the same as Tebow with the Broncos because we acquired him post-Tebow Mania. He has shown that he is, in many ways, clutch and he can win games. Because of that, and the memories that Jets fans have watching him beat us and the Steelers, will cause many fans to jump on the Tebow bandwagon even if Sanchez plays perfectly fine. Sanchez will throw an interception -- when he does, the "Tebow" chants will come.
Lets get one thing straight I am not a big tebow fan as a qb. Do I like the kid as a football player ? yes I do. The kid has heart, that is what I am talking about. Everyone is loveing the hill pick now even more . Why ? intangibles . I want players on my team that are there to win not just collect a pay check. Players that will give it everything and enjoy doing it. And yes intangibles alone dont make a difference but these players all have some skill or they would not have made it this far. God bless
But if that's the case, then it's "football fans" who would be chanting for Tebow because of what he can do on the field, no ??? That's different than what many are saying here, which is that the blind faithful Tebots will be the ones chanting his name. That said, if Sanchez plays well, it won't be an issue in my opinion.
You don't think Tebow is gonna have some boosters in the lockerroom also? Some teammates fell out of love with Sanchez last year, and said so (Some cowardly invoking the unnamed source thing). He is under tremendous pressure to come out of the chute playing really well. Anything less, and there will be rumblings both in the stands and in the lockerroom for Tebow.... Sanchez is really going to have to show what he is made of this year. This is gonna either be the best thing that could have happened to get his career fired up, or it is gonna ruin him. Both of these guys are getting booed by a segment of the crowd whenever they show up at an event of some type. This says there are already fans taking sides on this.
I think people/players will always have detractors. Hell, I seriously doubt that you can name a single player on the Jets that people are 100% in agreement about. That's just reality. Sure, Sanchez needs to step up, but in my opinion, that was something that was needed anyways. He's had his "grace" period so to speak. He's been the starter for 3 seasons and he's heading into his 4th. It's time for the training pants to come off and to see how he does wearing big boy pants.
We don't need him to catch though, we need him to block, and currently, he's one of the best there is at it.
heheheh, touche`. Let me rephrase: Hell, aside from Nick Mangold, I seriously doubt that you can name a single player on the Jets that people are 100% in agreement about.
Am I the only one who sees a headline starting out with Rex Ryan's opinion of, or Rex Ryan talks about.. and immediately a BS alert goes off in my head? After the gigantic load of crap that Rex Ryan has unloaded in the media the past 3 years, I'm sadly not interested in anything Rex Ryan says publicly. Especially the things that are glowing reports and opinions of his Jets players, veterans and rookies alike. Rex Ryan and his fan base might not know it at the moment, but he has to do way more than talk about how talented his team is this upcoming season, he might he switch from now to talking about how his players are not very good. A Game Changer, so to speak!!
I am sick and tired of Tebots coming on here and in effect saying there was nothing going on with Denver than Orton sucked and Tebow came in and singlehandedly righted the ship. That is Pure Tebot Fantasy, and anyone who REALLY knows what was going on in Denver knows otherwise. Imo, Orton is a better Qb by a clear distance than Tebow. And your post is total crap to leave out Orton's first year with Denver, or the fact that he went to KC and finished out the year well there, including beating Denver and Tebow. Spare us the nonsense comparisons to Orton.
No, you are not. It gets harder to do so because I recognize and agree with what you say here, but I still consider myself a Ryan supporter. He loves the game and preaches that to his players. There were several post game pressers last year I thought he was either an exceptionally good liar or quite delusional. And it is not limited to post game pressers. I see him talking less rather than talking honestly about less than stellar performances by his players, though. Otherwise I agree with you.
Most people don't know the difference between "Rex Ryan says" and "the media says Rex ryan says". Most people are stupid drones that go along with whatever the media says. If the media says Ryan is boastful and quotes a single line out of an hour long press conference, then they are right. The whole Rex Ryan loudmouth thing is a fallacy. Last season he BARELY said anything, it was just the cornball media sitting there and analyzing every line to find something they can blow out of proportion. And then there's the drama queens that actually believe that what Rex Ryan says is more important than how the team plays or the actual game of football. No, it's not because Cromartie fumbled, it's because Rex Ryan said they want to win a superbowl. I'm so tired of clowns like that, and the fools that follow them blindly (cough! negative nancy fans cough!)
..I'm not even sure if you are taking shots at me! but, maybe if Rex Ryan said it, I would call BULLSHITTTT!!!!!!! That being said, maybe if Rex Ryan didn't say anything! and just coached, the media couldn't miss quote him. Just maybe.. Although I think that would greatly disappoint the owner as his team would not make the tabloid back pages as often.
First of all, football is a team sport. Team record is not an individual stat for any position on the team. Including Qb. If you really knew the game and wanted to be honest and fair about it, you would not say a Qb's team's record was his record in the sense that he was directly and solely responsible for it. I note that Tebow's team lost their last three regular season games. That means Tebow was 1-4 over his last five games in Denver. Right? And you ignore that Denver started Orton's first year, 2009 in case you are not aware, with six straight wins, lost then to the Ravens and Steelers, and then Orton got hurt in the Washington game. I assume you were not a fan of the team then, but you can look it up. Guess what? Teams win and lose games not entirely due to the Qb and his play. In 2010 the Broncos had a huge amount of roster issues, they lost their HC midseason and got ensnared in a cheating scandal. Key players were hurt like Dumervil. You can look him up, too. Just don't try and insult us by thinking and acting like posters here do not know the game of football.
Nah, I wasn't taking shots at you, more speaking in general. Every coach holds press conferences and answers questions that the media has. If the media analyzed every other coach with the same scrutiny as Rex Ryan, they'd all be labeled as loudmouths with bravado. It's so silly to me, and in reality it's just from hard knocks. Rex's superbowl "guarantee" last year went pretty much like this (paraphrasing of course): Reporter: "So Rex, you guaranteed a superbowl last year and it didn't work out. Are you going to guarantee that again?" Rex: (laughs) "Yeah sure, why not?". (laughs again) Media headline: REX GUARANTEES ANOTHER SUPERBOWL!!!!!! WOW!!!! WHAT AUDACITY!!! We were fed crap like that all season long last year. Rex was just joking around with the reporter WHO ASKED HIM THE QUESTION. He didn't go out of his way to make it known that he wants to win a superbowl. Of course he's going to answer like that. Every coach says they have confidence in their team. Rex just got exploited because these news agencies are so desperate for sales and attention, when in reality they are the most insignificant maggots in all of sports. Sports writing as a whole has gone down hill big time. There just aren't any more honest reporters that can discuss the actual GAME of football. Today it's more about shocking people with ridiculous headlines about quote mines and social drama. This year it's all about Tebow vs Sanchez, when we KNOW that's not going to be a real issue when the season arrives.
Bronco fan here, you had a pretty good draft. I liked Streeter and A Allen as good picks. I just wanted to ask about Royce Pollard and if there's been any news about him. I see he was signed to a contract, one of the first, but any news about how he looked ? I posted this on the Broncos forum - A TRUE Sleeper, This kid will be MASSIVE Royce Pollard, WR - Hawaii He's not in the top 30 receivers on most websites and wasn't invited to the combine, but as I watched college football this season Pollard stood out to me every single time, much more then ANY other receiver. Hawaii threw him the ball A LOT, so he had plenty of attention from the D, but he just kept coming up with the catch time and time again. He has a great attitude as well, good size, good speed after the catch. Some players get no attention and then blow up the league, look out for Royce Pollard because he is one of them (I wanted to create a thread about this and not derail this thread, can't understand the 50 post rule, not seen it on other forums and seems pretty stupid) (Just noticed I needed 50 for posting links, instead of copying all that text I was just going to post a link from where I wrote it, with a good clip of Pollard, madness lol)
