I'm "inferring" that your 711 name is a reference to the fact that you're open all the time for men to come in for a wiener, and I have a "feeling" that you enjoy it.

Nobody likes Gholston but DWare. Everyone in here has been on him for the past 2 seasons, and that's hardly going to stop. However, it's starting to seem like beating a dead horse. When someone steps up and defends him, a host of people shout that person down. There's really no reason to continually reiterate the hate.

On the other hand, you stepped into this thread and you've been riding Kerry's jock like you've got money on it. Given the disappointment he's been for the past few seasons, how do you expect people to react to your man-love for him?

What exactly is "off-field" about celebrating over a forced-fumble while the ball and play is still live?

How the fuck does someone go from near pro bowl to shitty system playing centerfield to being in the best defense the Jets have had in a long fucking time and getting yourself benched?

    What a fuckin loser.

Careful, Jetsfan711 is going to pounce all over this one. Apparently you don't want him to slurpee your knob.

    Rumor has it...

...that the Jets have told Kerry that they want him back, BUT, at a reduced salary. This is why they're leaving it up to Kerry Rhodes to decide what he's gonna do, according to what a buddy of mine heard on the FAN. I honestly don't know what he'll do, but if this is true, I don't blame the FO for trying to do this at all.

Which is why I ignored it. I'm tired of answering people who "think" they have an argument.

I like Gholston. I still think he has potential, and I've been saying it all year.

That's not my argument, and never has been. I've said before that I respect those who have legit criticisms of his on-field problems and that I share the same concerns. It's the clowns who insist that he's "a cancer" that "plays without heart" and that "he doesn't want to play football anyway" that I argue with.

And honestly, that's fair. Rhodes has not lived up to his contract. There's no denying that. He can view his situation as having been forward paid.

I like Gholston too, glad he's been given a 3rd chance. I hope he knocks it out of the park this year. I was just pointing out how startling the hate is on this board for someone with KR's play vs. Gholston, who is paid considerably more. It's all good though, like I've said everyone has a right to their opinion. Just don't get on me when I express mine, simply because you don't agree. That's childish IMO and we're all grown.

It has nothing to do with agreement. It has to do with the fact that your posts look like they were written by a blubbering vagina.

I wouldn't be surprised if Rhodes turns this into a them vs me thing to be honest. He already has a hard time getting along with Thurman and Pettine. If he's gonna stay, he's gonna have to make THOSE guys happy, as well as, take a pay cut. To me, it sounds like the odds are stacked against him. If he does return, I hope he comes back and plays with a chip on his shoulder all year and prove the naysayers wrong. But I think his ego ends up getting the best of him and he requests a trade.

And if that happens, I'll pack his bags for him.

Understand that I only want guys here who want to be here. Or guys who STFU while they are and don't let it affect them. If Rhodes is neither, then F him.

I just don't think it's a case of him not wanting to be here. Nor of the team wanting to be rid of him. I think it's simply a matter of getting him to play to his potential, which he "thinks" he's been doing (and has been wrong about.)

I posted this in the Tanny interview thread, but it sheds more light on what this whole thing is all about.

Here is what Tanny said about Rhodes, after the obligatory "we expect him back" comments...

"He'll have more discusssions with Rex and the coacheswhere the level of consistancy for him and us is there for the 2010 season.

He could really benefit from a very productive off season. The discussions are not contractual or econimical.

... in the context of how we can get his performance to be consistant because when he played well he played very well... and there were obviously some games he didn't play as well as he and we hoped."

So, it sounds to me like it is performance related, and the Jets are asking for Rhodes to be much more heavilly involved in the off season program. It's time for Rhodes to go all in or fold. A little less Twitter, a litle more, or a lot more effort and work on being a football player, not some celebrity wanna-be.

Based on how much he talks about how great he is, I have my doubts. The team is telling him he's about to get kicked to the curb. It's time for Rhodes to shut up and put up.

And this has led me to MY argument against Rhodes. He's obviously been a gym rat and very studious about Ryan's system. He BEGAN the season by holding film sessions at his house with the DB's and (it seemed) he took all these extra hours serious, yet his play on the field didn't appear to show for it. After getting benched, he played better. Not great, but better. The reason why I threw his stats out, was because a few of those picks (Carolina game to be exact) were heaves by Delhomme. One of the worst QB's this season. This is why his stats don't really speak to me as to what he's done on the field as a whole. He just doesn't seem to "get" RR's system. It's not a knock on him or his talent. It's not that I hate him, it's just that I don't believe in him. If you ask me, he doesn't need a change of scenery, he needs a change in playbooks.

That's reasonable, and fair. That's your interpretation based on relevant observations.

Again, my problem isn't with people who hold his on-field performance against him. My problem is people who want to dump him because they feel he plays "without heart" or because "he doesn't want to play football, just tweet and act."

Getting pissed off that he blows coverage or only seems to make "easy" plays isn't unreasonable. They're the same things that piss me off. I just see it as a situation where if Rex can get him to play at his talent level in this defense, he'll be a monster.

I'm no fan of any one player. I'm a fan of the NY Jets. I want the best players, and I want them playing at the top of their talent. If they choose not to, even after getting a lesson like Rex gave Kerry, then screw them. I just think Kerry received the message and I want to see him follow that up.
