Or how difficult it was for a future Hall of Fame Quarterback and a Rhodes Scholar finalist Quarterback, who both talked about the system being too complex, or not being able to master the playbook. All in all an excellent interview for Rex. Hopefully the media at large will allow him to change, because it's not in their best interest to let him change. Rex makes their job the easiest sports beat in pro sports. Seems Chubby is allowing for him to change in his immediate segment post interview. He has defended him to the 8 Giant fan callers his producers selected for him.
And that's the most incredible thing of it all, too! Though I'm guessing that his goal was to make sure he is able to secure more Jets interviews in the future as well.... Still.....Truly one of the best interviews involving that fat fuck I've ever heard.
Nicely done by Rex, he disarmed Mike very easily. The guy has got the media savvy down. Now he needs to get the head coach thingy down too and we will be alright.
Pretty awesome interview. Rex did a damn good job and i'm looking forward to Rex 2.0. An tank going at him with that "How many times did you watch that Victory Cruz TD" Relax guy, He caught a 10 yard pass and 2 defenders fell on each other and a retard safety failed to push him outta bounds. Not exactly the immaculate reception.
that's more of an indictment on Schitty than anyone else. God...I'm soooo happy that assclown is gone.
I thought the interview went extremely well and I think Mike did a great job with the questions besides the shot with the 99 yd Cruz touchdown. I'm glad Rex knows what the problems are and is willing to admit/address them which shows signing of maturing as a HC and also understanding the responsibilities of being a HC and not just a DC. I loved the bit about the offense not being so brass because they are the ones taking the hits/not dishing them out. All in all I genuinely believe we'll see a new and improved Rex Ryan who will know how to address the offense/defense in a different light and will not put so much pressure on his team to perform at an insanely high level week in/week out. Another good point that even LT made was that they were getting every single teams BEST shot every week which makes it HARD to win and almost like a playoff game(such as Eagles game). Gonna take a Bart Scott quote here and say CAN'T WAIT for next season.
For anyone that wants to hear it again or for those that missed it... Here you go : http://newyork.cbslocal.com/?podcas...=Mike+Francesa&station_id=91&tag=&dcid=CBS.NY
I think Jack was trying to say that Rex is the HC. his non-involvement became apparent there. if thats how you feel you get that shit changed. its just more and more obvious Rex gave his OC blind faith because he knows what its like to aspire to be a HC. I really believe that. Now hes learning as HC he has to be involved in EVERYTHING. he needs to, except the cafeteria menu. I'll be honest I'm loving what I hear overall. sounds like a more humble, hands on HC we will see this yr.
That was a great interview. Good job Rex. Francesca wasn't rude to him, although it was messed up throwing up the stats for the last three games of the season for such a long time while Rex was talking. I'm sure you can find Giants games when they were all busted up with stats just as bad, mid season. Rex is addressing the issues and working on getting better, let's all leave him alone and let him do his job.
smart interview by both. fatty just won himself a shit ton of possibilities of actually getting jets on his show. rex well look how happy all these posts are about his job in the interview. personally, i think fatty was a pussy and should have pressed him harder although it would have meant never getting a jets interview again. and i think rex simply gave the pc company mandated lines and really didnt say anything. not that i can blame either one of them, as doing it the way i would have liked would have been a complete fucking catastrophe for them both.
I thought the interview was very good. I thought Mike showed Rex the respect he deserved and I think that Rex hit on point knowing he was going to have to eat some crow in regards to the things he said. As a fan I find it encouraging that he says he needs to be more involved in certain aspects of the team, I think about the changes Coughlin made a few years ago and Rex is showing an ability to evolve as a head man. I will say I found it funny when he said no Giant fan wants to hear my prediction, classic Rex and self deprecating humor goes a long way in NY. I also respected his rooting interest in Baltimore, complete honesty. Rex and Mike would be a good weekly spot. ,
