77 - 92% of a teams success is attributable to the quality of the QB - the Falcons have a very good QB and everything else can be fixed. The Bills don't have a good QB and as we have seen with the Jets its near impossible to fix that issue
I didn't say he had been offered it nor had I read that he 100% hadn't - I was responding to the idea that the reason he went to the Bills was out of some weird sense of revenge - which just sounds like nonsense - I can only assume it was the only HC gig on offer as I just cannot see it being a success (and given they are in the AFC East I hope it isn't) - a real shame I really wanted him to go to an NFC team so I could have a second team over in the other conference to keep an eye on and hopefully get some playoff action from.
Everything is speculation. But you can pretty much figure out that Atlanta did not offer him the job. If they really were that high on him, he would be the Falcons coach right now. There is a pretty good chance this was the only offer he was going to get this year, he would be a fool not to take it, if he wants to coach next year.
I wouldn't say so, not in the NFL, the coaches know the score and realize that someone needs to get fired after a season like that and that other teams know the score as well - so long as you aren't fired for committing a crime or lose the locker room or something then you will get another shot and will pocket a ton of cash into the bargain.
I don't know if scared is the right word, but the QB and offense look completely unprepared and overwhelmed in 3 games against BAL.
According to Mehta (but he might actually be telling the truth this time) Rex told the Pegulas that the Bills D will be nunber 1 this season. First of all do the people in Buff really want to hear a bunch of bragging. Esp when you can't back it up with Ws. And why brag about the Bills D when you had nothing to do with it. I'm sure Jets D players were thrilled to hear that. Rex saying the Bills are better than the Jets. Plus who cares if your D is number 1 other than him. The bottom line which he still doesn't get is wins and losses. From what we've heard he'll still be calling D signals during games. Sounds familiar.
Rex's press conference is tommorow. It's really going to set in for me tommorow, seeing him in Bills gear. Kinda crazy how the nfl works, if u told me a month ago that he would be in Buffalo I would have never belived ya.
You can't consistently point to a team like that and say the Jets QBs and offense (over multiple QBS and OCs) was bad.. Look at the 3 games against the Ravens, MISERABLE QB play.
Ok, you are getting lost. Go look at the QB stats in the 3 games under Rex the Jets played BAL. Then compare that to their stats against all other teams. Then come back to this and you'll see what I'm saying.
I wonder if the Bills get any primetime games next season outside of TNF? I guess I could see them going to New England opening night if the Patriots win the title, but there are plenty of good games on the schedule. Jets, Giants, Cowboys, Eagles, Patriots...
They played conservatively in 2010, for no reason at all imo. (Greenes fumble and Edwards running into the field goal kicker cost us that game). The 2011 game our offensive line got absolutely destroyed, the 2013 game Geno was just awful. I dont think the Jets were intimidated, I just feel like the 2011 game was a mismatch, especially when Mangold got hurt, the 2013 game was just Geno, but the 2010 came we did play like pansies and really should have won that one.
I'm not lost just saying ur only looking at 3 games when the fact is we sucked at QB for a while. Look at the QB play against the Bills this season does that mean he was scared of them also? O by the way it not like the Ravens didnt have damn good D's.
The Jets only played scared in the 2010 game, 2011 we were mismatched on the Dline vs Oline, 2013 we just had Geno on the road, enough said
