Good read, I like the stuff he had to say about Belli. We may hate him but only because he has won the thing we covet the most 3 times and has made it a habit of owning us. I always thought he liked Rex because I think he knew even though Rex was a loudmouth that he was a dam good coach. I think he is smart enough to know that coaches use different ways to motivate their players.

I've got a flight Asia next month so I think it's safe to say I'll be finding my way to Borders before May 16th.

Thanks for the book update. Sounds like good reading. I will also be buying one as soon as its available. I hope Rex does'nt give away too much as too give other teams any kind of advantages when they play our Jets.

I'm going out on a limb and guessing that they don't try to re-sign Gholston.

I can't fucking believe he warned Mangini about Gholston. Too fucking stubborn to listen.

In 2010 it was "Go Time" - In 2011, the new Jet's slogan is simply, "How bout tacklin' a motherfucka"

Oh boy Rex, it is going to be awesome when you win, or a shitshow of the highest magnitude if he fails.

Maybe thats why Mangini is now out of a job and he won't be a head coach anytime soon again.

Mike Francesa made fun of Rex Ryan again today. He said all you need to do to get a book deal is to act like a goofball and win a couple games. Francesa felt it necessary to point out that Ryan never won a division title as a head coach. He thought it was ridiculous that Ryan has predicted a decade of dominance by the Jets over the Giants.

Only shitty thing was his unconditional support for Schotty. My heart sank when I read that.

Wow, someone fucked up - probably ESPN/Cimini. Here's their quote:
    Here's Mehta:
And of course he says he "tweaked" Brady, even though his line sounds a lot closer to a compliment, but whatever.

Sure, but he doesn't have to be so effusive. Then again you could read:

Schottenheimer is going to be a great head coach in this league one day very soon, and I’m pushing for him.

    two ways, I suppose.

Look at what Rex has said about Vernon since he's been the coach. He was always talking him up, and now you get his real opinion. Rex won't speak negatively about anyone on the Jets.

    Love it

That 6th overall and the ZERO production out of the pick, hurts.

I hear about the div title alot, do people realize making the title game trumps winning a div title? The last 3 years the AFC East champ has lost in their first playoff game, I'm pretty sure Mia '08 and NE the last 2 years would trade places w/ the '09 or '10 Jets having a chance to play for the AFC Title.

and while we have made the title game the last 2 years the Giants have choked and missed the playoffs each year. Since their SB run they haven't won a playoff game, since 2001 the only season the Giants won a playoff game in was their SB season. Yes a SB trumps anything we have done BUT since Rex has been here the Jets have been to 2 title games and won 4 playoff gamws while the Giants haven't made the playoffs. Rex is 100% correct about the Jets being better and I have confidence he'll be right about being better the next decade.

    a) he's not going to bash anyone still on the team or working w/ him and b) Brian is a good OC. we are lucky to have him back.

Well for two years so far the Jets have fared much better than the Giants.
