Favre the most overrated Qb in the history of the game. Junc is rt Favre pisses away games in the playoffs and throws picks at times that HOFers should not. Give me 2010 Sanchez in the playoffs anyday over 40+ year old favre. He already proved he could not do it in NY with the exact same offense why would that change? Do you think all of sudden Favre would be on a run first team? Would not have happened and the defense does not look as good in 2009. What the hell did Brett do to elevate the Vikings in 2010? Fans are delusional and Ignorant at times. Favre with MMM then maybe Favre with Schotty more of the same.
From 5 minutes ago: What on Earth gives you the idea that allows you to prorate Mark's playoff performances? That's your issue. You think what's already happened in a small sample is what would happen going forward. The problem with Sanchez is, his regular season play prevents him from making the playoffs. The chances Sanchez is an NFL starter beyond this season are slim. You cant prorate playoff stats without taking into account how the play in the regular season.
it's great you can quote but where does it say "only" b/c of Howard? NO QB would have led the 2012 Jets to the playoffs, this is what you guys fail to realize. In the years he had a chance mark helped us get to the playoffs 2 of 3 years.
Winning the Super Bowl because of Desmond Howard vs only because of Desmond Howard is the same exact sentence. And again, why should Marks "prorated" playoff stats hold any water?
No it isn't, I never said he didn't contribute but Desmond stole the show and Reggie White sacking that statue Bledsoe all over the place was next.
why do people say favre didnt want to be with the jets? i didnt get that impression...could be i missed it, of course.
Ok? Is that supposed to take away from Favre's season? He was the MVP of the league that year. Bc Favre didn't throw for 350 and 4 Td's in the SB takes away from how great a season he had? Is that what your arguing?
B/c he didn't, he wanted to stick it to GB and go to Minny but GB wouldn't trade him to Minny and the Jets agreed to not move him to Minny or we would have had to send GB multiple picks. This was a guy helping Detroit prepare for GB instead of being immersed in his playbook w/ NE coming up. He never wanted to be here and played like it most of the year. It's not about #s, he was decent in the SB but the STer stole the show and a year later in another game they were heavily favored in he came up small but this time there wasn't a great STs performance to help him out.
The injury to Brett's arm has to count for something. Yes, his ego screwed us but he did kickass up to the Pats game.
No he didn't, he was mostly mediocre/bad that season. he had a nice 3-4 game stretch in November but that was it before he reverted back to early season favre.
You're acting as if Favre's the only great QB to lose a Super Bowl he was favored in. Every great QB has lost a playoff game they were favored in. Every great QB has thrown a bad interception in the playoffs. When you have long, awesome careers these things are going to happen. You can't prorate imaginary numbers with Sanchez and compare it to all time greats. It doesnt work. A special teamer "stole the show" last year too btw...
That STer should have won SB MVP last year and Joe Flacco is not on favre's level. Many great QBs have lost SBs they were favored in(well at least a few) including he best of the last 20 years Tom Brady but Brady won 3 not 1 and led 2 last minute GW drives, that's a little different than Brett. Sanchez doesn't compare to Brett overall obviously but I hate big time stat guys that don't play big time in big games so I may be being overly harsh w/ him like I am w/ Peyton. I have higher standards for guys like that.
That interception he threw against Philly in the Playoffs is one of the all time "Butt Fumbles" in playoff history. For that play alone Favre is not an all time great.
Why lament over a nonfactual event that never happened? Did you have a 'Jet' dream  I just will never understand it...crying over something that was never even real to begin with. Just move on ,and see what tomorrow brings.
Absurd comment. Please name the defenses that Favre had throughout his career that were better than our 2009 unit. Also, I agree that our 2009 unit wasn't truly "great" - but it was very good and would have easily been the best defensive unit Favre ever played with.
Horrible pick. You can add the pick he threw at the end of regulation in the NFC Championship game against the Saints to your list of all-time "Butt Fumbles".
