I am not saying he committed to Cumberland. What I am pointing out is, OTOH, you're saying they wouldn't use the white board in front of the camera (When in reality there are next to no secrets where the roster is concerned, and those cameras exist in almost all of the offices and meeting rooms, and to hear Sabol tell it, the people in the room can not tell when they're on or not (he gave an extensive interview yesterday)), but today Rex comes out and lays out the numbers in his presser.
That I don't get... If we're operating at a spot where Folk can be inconsistent enough to kill us, he's not to blame anyway.
I'm just fucking with you, gus. Feely lost his spot on this team after the AFC Championship game. There's no doubt in my mind about that. We won't be able to tell what we have in Nick Folk until at least halfway into the regular season.
:rofl2: I love this commercial.. SNY..dis guy bust our balls very day
Yeah I know  Who knows, after that Colts game, Feeley might be 'damaged goods'. I can't imagine how much pressure it is to kick in the NFL. I've done it at high school level and that was bad enough. Look at Nate Kaeding, pro bowler and he missed what 4 FGs against us, up until that point he was automatic.
It's OBVIOUS that Cumberland has made the team. This guy has a load of potential and the coaching staff recognizes that. He WILL be on the final roster.
He hasn't wowed anyone with anything. I can see him making the practice squad. I could give a shit about his measureables. Can he play football at a high level in the NFL? Right now the answer is - maybe down the road.
I love that people are emphatic that Cumberland needs to make the roster for his potential but want to cut McKnight because he's not NFL ready.
thejetsblog says the 4th TE isn't Purdum, but nothing is official. They might be wrong I will predict that Cumberland makes the practice squad, or is just a Special Teamer with Mulligan.
Hard Knocks does wonders on people's minds. The show has painted a rookie and a bad light, and now the kid has to make the pro bowl at some point for redemption in those people's heads. Fuck them though. I have no patience for that foolishness anymore.
Manish reported it was Cumberland, but he seemed to be guessing. It certainly does make sense from what Rex said, but it would likely be a 4 week move to keep him from getting snapped up en route to the PS.
We lost a major part of this defense in Calvin Pace and yet this thread spent the better part of 5 pages arguing over the identity of the 4th TE? How much do our TC LBs have to suck if we can still justify 4 TEs? As for the Purdum part, I think Tannnenbaum and REx are differentiating Specialists from the rest of the roster and included long-snapper in that group.
