Idzik shafted Rex but that's kinda the point. We're gonna be like this until we have an offensively capable HC that can get a decent QB in here.
Woody needs to at least say something. If it just keeps staying the same even the NFL might intercede. We aren't the Raiders.
I'm amazed somebody didn't shove a black bag over his head and escort him to the gallows immediately after the presser. The man is done, it's written all over his face.
I just don't think it's right. If Idzik really wanted Rex gone, he should have fired him after last season. The only exception to this could be if Woody forced Rex on Idzik to begin with. If so, then we still have a meddling owner...
Its a mistake firing a head coach that has now failed with 3 quarterbacks? A head coach that has his team off to a Kotite like start? A head coach who has a sub 500 record in 5 years+ now? I would love to have a sip of whatever Red Kool Aid you're drinking....
It wouldn't really boggle the mind. Idzik's guy is forced back into the starting spot, Rex and Marty have him throw a total of 13 passes and basically define ground and pound like it has never been done before. Most carries in any game where MM is OC. Rex could be fired before his Monday presser. Probably not, but... would not be surprising. And Rex would keep every Woodybuck on his paycheck.
C'mon with this already. Aside from his numerous coaching flaws as a head coach, Rex is very responsible for the roster of this team since day one when the team traded up for Sanchez. Idzik had 1 legitimate off season of FA (year 1 we had no money) and 2 drafts,......but everything is his fault. Rex is not and probably will never be a really successful head coach.
It official your a idiot. With the way Rex loves his players he would never laugh at this or have someone miss on purpose. You just run your mouth and don't have a clue what your talking about.
A bit touchy aren't we? Geno even with his limited opportunites, still managed to shit the bed last nite. Missing Harvin on that easy TD was the beginning. This kid's head is just fckd up and just like Rex, Geno probably would do well in a different system in a different city. Face it, even Tebow could have executed that gameplan last nite. There was no real evaluation done based on what we saw. At least I hope not.
Another guy who doesn't have a clue. What the fuck has Idzik given Rex to work with? My bad he did bring in all those great CB's that everybody in the world knows is a key to Rex D. Yeah he did give him Geno as his QB.
I don't disagree with you but correct me if I'm wrong it was Idzik who drafted Geno? When they fire Rex and he gets his next coaching job the Jets will regret it and about this time next season everybody on this board will want Idzik fired. Rex is not the problem it the fucking talent on this team. O by the way? Did last night game look like a team that quit on there coach?
We can only hope that the few remaining Rex ballhuggers and Sanchez sycophants leave this board and end their Jets fandom after this season. It will vastly improve the quality of this board.
Well, several things comes to mind. First, it will certainly be a while before Rex gets his next HC gig. He'll have his pick of DC slots though but I don't see him in the big chair for a bit. He really needs to take some time off and do some re-evaluation of how he coaches a team. He has to realize that there will be no more 2000 Ravens squads because the game and the rules have made that style of football obsolete. Second, it was Idzik who drafted Geno. Idzik is Rex's boss and wanted to evaluate Geno for the rest of this season. Rex pulled an end around on his boss by going run heavy to the extreme. Now what happens when you sidestep your boss in real life? Usually a quick end. After Miami adjusted to the Jets gameplan, what was Rex's response? Keep running the ball even though Miami was putting 8-9 guys in the box. That's how much he "believes" in Geno. He basically took the ball out of Geno's hands last nite. Turned Geno Smith into Tim Tebow. Hell, Matt Simms could have executed that gameplan with similar results. The Jets on defense looked like they wanted to atone for the asskicking they got from the Bills and for 3ptrs, they looked pretty good. The offense OTOH, looked like MM simply was dialing up running plays for the sake of taking the ball out of Smith's hands. Rex owns a lot of what happened last nite. Geno was both a victim and culprit at the same time with all the misses and bad passes. At this rate and with this CS, Geno will never develop. No QB could. A bigger questions is, Can Geno ever really be THE GUY, or just a backup. Can't answer that question based on last nite alone but his body of work so far does not bode well for him.
People take way to much away from a Rex presser sometimes,he knows he's done and he isn't gonna be here in 4 weeks,Get Over It
Could you blame him for taking the ball out of his hands? When he did put the ball in his hands in that last drive Geno threw a pick
Yeah--except that after the Walls pick, with 3rd and 10 at the 30, and a FG puts us up two scores, the fool decides to pass and Geno is sacked and we punt. What kind of fucking idiot decides to pass in the one situation which dictates that you run after running all game? Rex has become a nightmare. Oh, by the way, was IK playing so good that he had to be taken out for the 4Q? Why the fuck was this kid not playing instead of Coples this year?
