No argument from me that they got lucky as shit. My point is that you can't say the only diff between the Jets and Giants was luck when the Jets didn't even have to play in 2 SBs. That is 2 entire huge games to be speculating on.

Without being inside Rex's head there is no reasonable basis to attribute motive to his decisions that you then criticise. It's unreasonable.

That's it, Mitch, make personal attacks against anyone who disagrees with you. Really professional. Makes about as much sense as your hero Rex Ryan naming Santonio Holmes as jets team captain, and then watching Holmes, Rex's appointed team leader, have a melt down in the huddle. Holmes has collected about 21 M from the jets the last three years, hasn't played thru injury, degraded the Panther's secondary the week of the game, screams at TEAMMATES in the huddle, and has been a total non-team player. THAT is the guy Rex selected in 2011 to be the TEAM CAPTAIN. Rex SURE has an eye for leadership, doesn't he?

Hey clown. You should stop posting here. You seem to significantly lower the intelligence of this board.

    This was Idzik's interview:

Idzik: "Good afternoon Mr Johnson, I'm John Idzik from Seattle.

    Woody: "Seattle?" (looks at blackberry).

Idzik: "Yes sir. I'm here to interview for your GM positions with the Jets.

Woody: "Ohh! Yes Jay, of course!".

Idizk: It's 'John'. And I'm looking forward to working with such a fine organization.

Woody: "What do you expect to be 'working' on?

Idzik: "Well sir, I've been in contact with several prominent HC candidates".

Woody: "HC? We got that covered, Jay."

Idzik: (confused) "Well sir, then I would start with player evaluations and preparing for the draft".

Woody: "Draft? My guy covers that too".

Idzik: (extra confused) "Sir, do you mind me asking what it is I would be doing as the General Manager of the NY Jets?"

Woody: (glances at his empty coffee cup)

Again, there are/were not a lot of options for him to play. Who other than Smith or Scott did we have on the roster? He already spent a lot of money on defense for Cro and Revis as well as a first round pick in Wilson. The middle of the field got picked on more, it was the weakest link. Most of us here think he devoted too much money on the defense, it would have been a hard argument to spend more on it.

Walls and Allen do show promise, but they had their fair share of misses as well. For a hobbled old man, Cro held his own this year. We only look at his mistakes, but he had good coverage on most downs he played.

I wanted to see more Powell as well last year, but even this year he was beat out by a guy coming off an injury in Ivory and we drafted another RB. I don't think they see him as a full time guy to carry the load.

But yes, he is loyal to what he knows a player can do and less likely to give game time to unknowns. When your offense can't score points, it's hard to gamble on unknowns from you best unit.

I think when he had players of equal talent, he went with experience.

I want a HC who knows what the words "open competition" really means. I also want a HC who is free to have or pick the starting QB that will be successful in their offense.

To hire a HC and say they have to play Smith or can't draft a QB would be as bad as hiring a GM and saying they must keep the bad HC. But, this is the Jets way and we will suck next year.

To be honest, I'm not surprised at his response. In my short time on this board, I've yet to see one quality, coherent post from him. All I've seen from him is ranting, raving, name calling, and one- or two-liners. I can't imagine a less valuable or civil poster than him. I don't even waste my time reading his inane drivel.

But you're wasting your time whining about someone whose inane drivel you claim you don't read?
