I think when a diva wr gets a contract, they demand a passing game. So i think plax and holmes gave the locker room a real hard time this year. And I dont think schotty was able to handle it. I think they were demanding a passing game that just was not there. The jets abandoned the run this year even when it was working. Thats just my opinion, but i think those 2 were the problem as far as attitudes. That,i think Sparano can handle.
How so? It was Rex that wanted to open it up for Sanchez and when that didn't work wanted to go back to ground and pound. Sparono only knows ground and pound type of offense. I don't think Plax will be here, but odds are Holmes will be and if he thought there wasn't a passing game with Shotty, he isn't going to like Sparono's O any better. I don't see how Sparono is going to handle holmes any better when Holmes wants more of a passing game and Sparono isn't going to give it to him.
I guess we'll just have to see. But i can guarantee that if the Oline is solidified, and a solid run game is solidified, that Holmes wil see the ball more.
One can hope. I think the WR playing on the other side will also help Holmes out. Plax was just not the deep threat that Edwards was.
Sparano won't wait till week 17 to bench Holmes. That's a big difference. I'm not sold on Sparano yet either. However, Wade Phillips makes me more optimistic about Sparano's abilities. Some guys are HC material and some guys aren't.
Dick LeBeau is hailed as a genius DC in Pittsburgh, he couldn't win a game of checkers as head coach in Cincinnati. Not that anyone could at the time, but there are a million examples of this.
I think it might have been said earlier in this thread, but fwiw, Sparano isn't going back to being an OC; he never was one. This will be his first time working in that capacity. So the "Peter Principle" may not apply the normal way in this instance.
The Peter Principle means that every employee keeps getting promoted until they reach their level of incompetence So what you saying is that Sparano was two levels beyond his highest level of competence as a HC, and still beyond his level of competence as an OC? Highly unlikely...you're just bitter:grin:
Why is it "highly unlikely"? Do most asst. coaches who are promoted to coordinator succeed? And before you tell me how so many former head coaches perform well at the coordinator level after bad HC performances, keep in mind that the majority of those guys are going back to a coordinator job ...a job they'd held somewhere before and shined enough to warrant someone hiring them for a HC position. In Sparano's case, he has no proven track level at the coordinator level. I don't blame you for being optimistic. As fans of our respective teams, that what we have to do. But since this is Sparano's first crack at being an OC, I don't see how you can be as certain as you sound. Hopeful? Yes. Certain? Highly unlikely. And believe me when I say I'm not the least bit bitter about losing Sparano. Check out the Fins red zone stats and you'll understand why.
he had another diva wr, brandon marshall, in miami. at a tuna guy, he can handle santonio just like tuna handled keyshawn and marshall. tuna also had t.o. in dallas.
You're talking to another Dolphins fan. Obviously facetious. If it were a Jets fan it would be something along the lines of... But he will bring you a sweep of those nancies wearing orange and teal in NY junior.
****'ing SOJ fans. Maybe just maybe the team got a hard on after 2 AFC Championship Games. I know i did. Spoiled idiots.
Here we go again with the 2 AFCCG defense.. Ncredible. All of this BS in the lockerroom and ineptitude on the field didn't happen overnight and its gonna take more than one offseason to fix it. It may be 100% fixable, but its the timeframe that's highly dubious.
out of curiosity, what experience do you have with an NFL locker room? Furthermore, what experience do you have with an NFL locker room that has player issues? The certainty that comes with your comment leads to a degree of experience and knowledge.
