The point about Woody insisting that Rex stay is obvious. It is a proven case of Woody interfering in team management decisions. You can't say he doesn't do that.

OF COURSE that does not mean that he is behind EVERY decision, or even every big decision.

And it is my recollection that he was big behind the Favre signing, to take another big decision as example.

I do recall much indirect evidence of Woody being for the Tebow trade, and I concede a big part of my thinking there is that it was, on the face of it, not a football decision. Meaning it was not on the merits as opposed to for marketing and publicity considerations. The Jets had a new OC, so Sparano could not have been the main factor behind the decision, and Rex it was clear did not support the trade. And later did little to support Tebow (not that he should have...). Tanny ended up taking the fall for that, but imo those comments about Tanny being behind the decision were made only after he left, and imo the MAIN reason Tanny was fired was because of the Sanchez contract extension, not the Tebow trade.

I just can't see how Tanny could have pulled off the Tebow trade if Rex was opposed, Sparano new, unless Woody was in agreement with it.

But the main point about Woody is he is the owner. And with that comes a level of responsiblity for the performance of the team.

I believe that Geno will win the job. If Vick starts he will be hurt by Game 4 anyways.
