    i think so too.
but without a QB, they will only get so far.

Buff is in a similar situation as us.
the coaching is only going to go so far without a QB.
ball is the court of the GM's imo. drafting well and ultimately finding an adequate answer at QB will determine which team has longer term success. my money is on Mac..

Sounds like more excuses for Rex. And I'm sure he'll use them on Whaley.

Thank goodness the era of scapegoating is over.

    I'm so glad he's gone.

so what exactly about my post do you disagree with?

do you believe either the Bills or the Jets have a 2015 Super Bowl roster?
do you believe either team has the right QB on the present roster?
do you believe it's the job of Rex and Bowles to either draft or trade for that QB (and not the GM's)?

i'm curious to know which part u disagree with, or how what i said sounds like an excuse for Rex (but not Bowles)?

name me one time Rex scapegoated his players, coaches or GM in his era with the Jets...

should be easy to cite many examples, considering you think its an entire era of scapegoating.

What Rex loves to do is to use the press to get his spin out if his team is playing terribly. And blame everyone else. He won't say it himself he'll use others (even his mother) to spread that message. Yeah, the GM is supposed to make the decisions on personnel but with the strong feedback of the coaching staff. And I think Idzik did that: look at his draft picks, all his no. 1 picks were on defense. So if the GM makes the final decisions he calls it micromanaging. Maybe because he probably had more say with Tannenbaum who deferred to his head coaches on personnel decisions. The divide I think was that Idzik was in a rebuilding phase and didn't want to spend all of the cap in one year. Even though he did try to sign elite corners. As for the Qb position with the Jets whose decision was it to start Geno last year, Idzik's or Rex. I don't know except that Rex said it was his. I can see if problems with the Bills him doing the same things to Whaley. Not saying it himself but letting others spread the message.

Re watching he first game last year against Oakland. 6 penalties in the first 15.5 min of the game. At least 2 by colon, one of which killed a redzone drive. I don't think Bowles will keep ANY player in that is hurting the team like that.

The Rex supporters on TGG blow my mind. His mom on the other hand: makes sense. :)

The play Oakland scored their first TD on is a play we got called on a few minutes earlier. I think it was a wide receiver pick play.

The plays were identical, carbon copies. We just got the flag.

your argument has nothing to do with mine..

i stated that with both teams, in their current situations, reaching the playoffs in 2015 is within reach and would be a victory. a coaching job done well.
especially Buff who hasn't seen the playoffs this century..
but neither team will get much further until the QB position is improved.

improving the QB position is the key to sustained success, and is the ultimate job of the GM's.
this season is the last chance Geno and Manuel will be given.

how is that a 'Rex excuse' (but not a Bowles excuse)?
your first reply to me made no sense, and your follow up reply was an out of context Idzik support argument.

Because it was last year. The spin we heard was that Geno was an Idzik project and he micromanaged Rex and forced him to start Geno over Vick. And
that's exactly what Rex's mother said: that Idzik didn't give Rex enough talent and micromanaged him. In other words nothing was Rex's fault. And here was a guy in his pressers who every week said he had been outcoached. Which is true.

you must be arguing with someone else, as you aren't at all responding to what i wrote......which was about the situation of the current Jets and Bills.

to your (separate) point.....'pressers' and 'spin' really don't mean shite.
the lack of talent, the disconnect between GM and coach, and the on field results were all obvious.
there is plenty of blame to go around when a season goes that terribly, which is why there were mass changes made.

    He's too smart for that.

Instead what happened was a era of unnamed sources stabbing teammates, Jets management in the press. Non-stop leaks to the media.

I'll see if I can find Mehta's hit pieces on Tannenbaum, Idzik almost read like a copy & paste.

Mike Francesa outed his right hand man Pettine as being one of Mehta's sources.

Oh if Rex only had this, oh if Rex only had that ...

Thank goodness the circus has moved to Buffalo GOOD RIDDANCE!
