I wouldn't be surprised if all this rule really means is that if you are a RB and fumble you sit out 1 drive as long as there's not >5 minutes left and you are needed for a certain play. Just being used to send a message.
Yeah, Shaun Ellis is one of my favorite Jets of all-time. I said a few years back that it may have been time for the Jets to cut ties with him. I'm so glad they didn't.
Funny but true. If it somehow corrected all his fumbles, Peterson's game would improve so much. It's his fumble-itis people knock whenever discussing his gameplay.
It's not about pain guys. It's about watching your buddies being forced to do something because you screwed up. It's not physical punishment, it's mental punishment. Screw up and have your buddy take the reaming for it. It makes you feel tiny. You tend to remember that more than if you were just punished directly. As for fumbles, Schotty said specifically everyone is subject to the rule but Sanchez. While it shouldn't last all game, Greene did put two balls on the floor, then when given yet another chance he dropped a pass that was right in both hands with no one near him.
It's a high school technique but these are grown men that put in plenty of time in the weight room. The point of the pushups was to give them some tangible consequence to fucking up, just like in a real game.
Whatever works as far as I am concerned. if pushups stop fumbles GREAT. If Greene hadn't fumbled we are 1-0.
I think if SG caught that ball in the 4th instead of it bouncing it off his hands, we were winning the game.
Yep. Mangold and Ellis are my favorite players on the team, and since Sean has been there longer, I guess that means he's my favorite of the two. Imo although on different sides of the ball both have alot in common. Show up, do your job and do it consistently, don't complain, get it done. I admire that. And both say interesting and the right things on the not too rare but not too often occasions when they have something to say.
I agree if it was for conditioning it would be a lot more.. Its just so they guys realize that they had a penalty
According to Cimini's ESPN blog Ryan made the team do push ups because of their "Bad Practice" yesterday. Obviously, the debacle on Monday Night had a lot to do with it as well. I just find it alarming that they are having a bad practice after that horrific showing against the Ravens. It seems like there should be a sense of urgency and focus with this team and not tumbling back to square one again.
