Yeah they had the #8 offense this season. So fix the Oline, and having a Rex Ryan defense in place (top 10). Re install the home field advantage that they used to have.

    Taibbi must be an idiot.

"The first two years of the Rex Ryan era surely rank with the greatest stretches of coaching in the history of the league, and let’s not hear any whining about how one can’t say that because Rex’s Jets never won it all during that time. If Belichick can have his ring kissed by national pundits for just missing the playoffs in 2008 with Matt Cassel and a supporting roster a season removed from a 16-0 record, then Ryan deserves at least equivalent praise for twice just missing the Super Bowl with Darrelle Revis, a nice blitz package, and the horrifying blooper-reel fixture Sanchez under center."

Whose Taibbi? Greatest stretches of coaching in the history of the league?

"BOOOOM! THAT"S FALCONS OR BILLS FOOTBALL!!!"

If Rex can choose, he would definitely take Matty Ice over EJ Manuel right? Although Bills D is much better than Falcons. Tough call for Rex if he is offered both.

Rex can be a successful head coach with the Falcons. I don't think he can be a successful head coach with the Bills. Without a starting Qb or a first round pick, he's basically going into a slightly worse position from the Jets (better talent, perhaps, but a worse outlook on offense.)

He needs to get into a winnable division to. Pats don't lose, so even if you do beat them they will win every other game anyway.

The nfc south is obviously weak. Does have Payton and Brees but they are not Belichick and Brady.

I believe Pioli getting hired in Atlanta may hurt Rex's chances because I have heard Pioli wants to bring in McDaniels which would be a catastrophic mistake because their offense is already good.....

Rex is apparently meeting with the Bills now.

Who the hell knows, this whole coaching search has been quite odd, its like none of these teams are that high on any of these guys and dont know what to legitimately do. Its like drafting a QB when you don't believe in any of the QBs available....

Taibbi used to be a headliner for Rolling Stone.

Rex at the Bills would be a disaster for them and probably for us as well. They have enough defensive talent that he'd lock them in at 9-7 next year. They have no QB so he'd lock them in at 9-7 next year. Then a few years down the road they'd be scraping bottom again but they'd have taken up just enough space in the AFC East to keep the Jets from doing anything spectacular.

The flip side is that Buffalo's media culture is not ignitable so Rex wouldn't have the spotlight the way he did here. Maybe that's what he needs right now, some quiet time to learn how to be a good HC in the NFL.

I read just fine. You left out the "For his career" part. Please write more carefully.

As if hovering 2 games above .500 in the 4th year of HIS CAREER is so much better anyways.

Excuse me for not reading every post in the thread. Your argument still sucks since Rex has hovered barely above .500 from day 1.

keep up in threads, if you are going to bash a post at least look at the post I was quoting to gain some context rather than foolishly and childishly bashing someone who knows more than you.

You are right. I should have at least read the post you quoted. However, it still wouldn't have made your post any better since Rex hovered barley above .500 for his career. The only one who is foolish and childish is you when it comes to Rex and Sanchez.

I don't know you, but you have a million posts that prove you don't know more than I do.

why are you keeping this up? admit your mistake and move on.

after year 1 he was 9-7, 2 games above .500
    after year 2 20-12, 8 games above
    after year 3 28-20, 8 games above
    after year 4 34-30, 4 games above
    after year 5 42-38, 4 games above
not until they fell to 1-6 to this year did he get to .500

hovering above .500 would be having a chance to be at or below .500 each year which clearly was not the case. Read the posts, try to understand the context then post so you won't look as foolish next time.

I don't know you either and I don't read your posts.

No mistake to admit to when it comes to the argument at hand. You are wrong.

    9-7 is 1 game above .500.
    11-5 is 3 games above .500.
    8-8 is .500.
    6-10 is 2 games below .500.
    8-8 is .500
    4-12 is 4 games below .500.

    Year 1 - .563 winning %
    Year 2- .688 winning %
    Year 3 - .500 winning %
    Year 4 - .375 winning %
    Year 5 - .500 winning %
    Year 6 - .250 winning %

Only 2 years above .500 out of 6. His best year was 3 games above .500 Who cares about a combined winning %? A combined winning % won't get you into the playoffs each year.

Rex has hovered around .500 his entire career as a head coach. Those claiming otherwise are the ones who look foolish.

By the way, If you don't know me and you don't read my post, then how would you know that you know more than I do? Sounds like a foolish / childish insult to me.

so only one losing season coming into this season. Thanks for confirming.

9-7 is 2 games above, he'd have to lose 2 games to get to 9-9 and to .500.

Ummm, no. 8-8 is .500, 9-7 is one game above 8-8. It's only a 16 game season, you can't have phantom games not to be played in your calculations for a record.
