Comparing a Woodhead experiment to the Brad Smith one is not a relevant comparison. Smith likely caught no balls in college. Woodhead on the other hand caught 119 balls in college. He obviously has experience receiving. He also has blocking skills and his running skills are better than any receiver on the roster. Whether you line him up in the backfield or the slot is not a huge transition. It would make sense on a lot of levels if it was true. We have done well in the past with RB/FB receiving projects. Remember Richie Anderson?

Well, maybe you all could be onto something with this Woodhead dude because Clowney only had 88 catches, 1,306 yards with 5 TD's in college with VT but as of right now...I would take Clowney over Woodhead.

How many of the 119 catches did Woodhead make in college from the WR position, not the RB position? Because it's pretty easy to catch swing passes all day long out of the backfield.

I'm just not confident in a RB becoming a WR, I'm just not.

there are possibilities that PERCY HARVIN may line up as either.

Same thing I was thinking. He has a quick elusive first step and just needs a little open space and is supposed to be great in the open field.

I really don't think so. With his past personal problems and his inconsistent on the field play, I'd pass on him. He had suspect hands from what I saw of him.

I disagree. What he said in the context he said it seems pretty clear to me. Believe what you want though.

Matt Jones was really starting to come into his own with the Jaguars last year, if he never got suspended...He would have put up some really solid numbers and with Jones as our #2 WR with Stuckey as our slot WR...I would be really confident in our offensive attack and thats because we should have one hell of a rushing attack this year with three talented backs behind one of the best Offensive lines in all of football when it comes to run blocking and creating huge lanes for our backs to explode through. Last year, Thomas Jones rushed for an average of 4.5 yards per carry, Leon Washington rushed for an average of 5.9 yards per carry and even Tony Richardson rushed for an average of 6.5 yards per carry, with the addition of Shonn Greene-A natural power back with solid speed-Our rushing attack should be lights out this year!

Our rushing attack ranked #5 in the league in average yards per carry year, thats because of a really solid O-Line. We ranked #9 in rushing yards and we ONLY ranked 19th in rushing attempts...Thats freaking impressive. This year? With a rookie QB, just like the Falcons and Ravens...I expect us to rank top 5-7 in rushing attempts.

With or without Matt Jones, I'm excited about our offensive attack because this O-Line is serious when it comes down to run blocking.

With all that said: Matt Jones had 65 catches in only 12 games for 761 yards... If he had played in all 16 games, he would have been on pace for 86 catches to go along with 1014 yards...

Matt Jones is 26 years of age, finially starting to come into his own as a 6'6 WR with exciting speed and...He would be an instant upgrade to our Offensive attack and one hell of a red zone target for Sanchez and the Jets.

    Please, get it done Jets.
