Keep committing libel and attempting to damage my reputation, I really appreciate.

And I'm telling you that even if the bold or what cockamamie story he provided in the past is true, putting him in the game was still stupid and there is no rationale that can change it from being so.

I don't know what to say. I guess I'm just gonna agree to disagree.

The good part about it is that it's in the past and no longer affects the Jets. That's good enough for me to move on from it lol.

My thoughts are that Rex put him in, with the expectation that if he wins the game for them he wins the job. He wasn't just competing with Geno, he was competing with his previous years when he committed massive turnovers. He had several in that preseason as well. The Jets were trying to figure out whether the best course of action was to move on from Sanchez or not.

People act like Sanchez was the bonafide starter. The fact of the matter is that he was not. He was coming off a horrible season, and the fact that he struggled to play better than a 2nd round rookie speaks volumes.

I blame the injury on Sanchez' pocket awareness more than anything. Almost any other QB in the league goes down to protect himself rather than taking the hit directly to his throwing shoulder. I know the line wasn't good at all but he should have known this and compensated.

And the funny thing about the whole situation, is that Rex may have actually saved his job because of that injury. Had Sanchez been named starter, there's a good chance that he follows the same trend of turnovers as he did the past 2 years, and the Jets could have had a worse record than 8-8, essentially costing Rex his job.

Except that isn't true, I speak about them honestly. I appreciate what they did but I am not going to pretend Namath was Tom Brady, Mcneil was Walter Payton, Wesley was jerry Rice and O'Brien was anything. Ken was my favorite player as a kid but the man didn't win a single playoff game despite more talent around him in a weaker era for AFC football than mark Sanchez. I appreciate he played hard and helped us win a lot of games but if I am picking QBs I'm taking Mark Sanchez if everything around them is equal.

except he didn't struggle top beat him out, he was light years ahead of Geno. if there was an actual competition it would have been over weeks earlier. There wasn't a competition though.

I know, I was busting your balls. I did say you were right.

Except for the Brady thing. Namath would have been a monster in today's NFL and Brady might have lasted a couple of seasons in the late 60s/early 70s.

Brady gets hit by much bigger, much stronger, much more athletic players than Joe ever got hit by. I understand the rules changes but QBs would literally be killed in today's game if those changes hadn't been made.

If Joe stayed healthy I think he'd be an all time great but it's Jets luck he couldn't just like Ken hurt his shoulder, Chad and his issues, Mark last year. hopefully some day we get an elite QB.

Factor in the modern defensive holding/pass interference rules, plus modern arthroscopic knee surgery. He'd have been an animal.

all we can do is compare them in their eras and his body couldn't hold up. I think Joe would be a Favre type in this era if he could stay healthy. Gun slinger, stills throws too many INts but throws many more Tds.

If you never watched him play you can only focus on meaningless fantasy stats.

Thank you for being a fan.

I didn't see him play but I have seen, heard, read, talked to enough people to form an intelligent opinion and to understand how overrated he is by Jet fans.

You can't blame the injury on Sanchez. He tried to go down after he made the throw. If anything, he made a nice play.
