Can you not read, took the time to try and rip my comment appart, but instead showed you can't understand something you felt compelled to quote.

Eric Smith wasn't serviceable at safety he sucked. The only reason he played safety is Rex ran Kerry Rhodes off the team and when he finally found his replacement traded him to the Jags for a late round pick.

The Jets D was great when they had a cover safety in 09 and when they finally put a cover safety on the field after the Pats blew his D out of the water on Monday night football in 2010.

So you are telling me that Eric Smith was so bad that there wasn't 1 other JAG or released safety that they couldn't pick up to replace him? I find that hard to believe. You could do a lot worse than Jim Leonhard and Eric Smith at safety. Rex got more out of those two guys than Kerry Rhodes could produce in talent.

Rex is a very small part of the problem, I would give Rex, Marty, and Idzik 3 years together and see what develops.

They need players, they need talent, they don't need a coaching staff overhaul again.

If they're just going to can Rex after one year with a new OC and GM they should have just canned him last season.

Agree with OP. The Rex bashing is simply insane and the media is using tons of double standards to do it. 2010 & 2011 they criticized Rex for being too loud and boisterous. Now that he's evading questions and not giving them quotables they are bashing him saying he's dejected and defeated. It's such nonsense. There is no middle ground it's either bad reason Xor it's bad for reason Y (even though X & Y are opposites). Just ignore the stupid media. They have an agenda and only care about ratings.

What is this a popularity contest? Does amusing pressers make up for crappy game planning or locker room melt downs.

I am down on Rex because he is not a good HC. There is not bias or personal feeling. He is not good at anything but defensive game planning. That is not a HC. Most of all he is terrible at player management.

This thread will deserve a bump in a few months because by midseason we will have had at least one locker room meltdown. Because Rex is not a qualified HC.

I agree! Rex is a below average HC and he should have been gone this year.

I beseech thee oh "wise" one, if thou would grace us mere commoners with your great wisdom?

Dost thou have an opinion or do you merely exist for the same reason as does the gnat?

    Dennis Thurman?

:rofl2: you are as dumb as your avatar.

Dennis Thurman was just promoted to be a DC - he's not calling the plays and he's no-where as knowledgeable on defense as Rex Ryan. You think Dennis Thurman can run virtually (or better) the same EXACT defensive scheme Rex runs now?

Talk about taking 20 steps back.

    Next?

    I do it daily.

Then I wander over to the burning trash barrel to witness TNJet dropping a deuce on his own dinner plate.

But I don't stay to watch him eat it.

He didn't get more out of them then Kerry Rhodes produced he got less. He also didn't do anything to prevent the trade that sent Lowery away. Lowry stabilized the safety position after Leonard got hurt and was a much better cover safety than either Leonard or Smith.

I don't think many NFL teams could do a lot worse than Leonard and Smith. The Jets D was significantly worse with Leonard and Smith than the were with Lowery or Rhodes on the field..

Yeah I think you are writing about our offense last year. Tony sparano was a former O Line coach before he got the dolphins gig. He had no offense put into place. Rex wanted him thinking he was the brains behind the wildcat and also thought Tony was a good offensive mind. We were in every game except a few with out any good offensive plays installed.

Yeah he is a D minded guy w/o offense exp. What do you guys want rex to do it all both D&O + Motivate,Game plan, and Keep players in check ?
Why have other coaches ? Rex should do it all. Right?

To be honest, Rex should've known better to approve the hire of that turd, so he gets half the blame.

As well as the Lowery trade......

for the record, I like Rex, but can see some of his warts,

Rex probably shouldn't choose offensive coordinators.

    That much is clear.
