When did this board become a home for angry young guys who haven't a clue about football or the political life of this country. How Rex being a good or bad head coach became a forum for bashing the President and his wife I have no idea? When civility returns maybe this site will have some use for Jet fans but for now you will have to grow up on your own.

 

This place has always been a home for angry young guys who know nothing about football.

As for the political life, outside of a few guys like myself, Hobbes, Biggs, Blocker, and a few others, most people have less than a clue about politics.

First I'm not young and was around when the Jets actual won a SB even thou too young to remember. I have been through all the bad times with this team and the politics of this country. Until we get another Ronald Reagan to step forward we will be a laughing stock to the world, and as log as Rex is our HC we will be the laughing stock of the NFL.

From tattoo to foot fetish he is a clueless joke who lost control of the team two years ago and has never got it back. If we had a top five defense, just maybe I could look past his total lack of being a real HC and knowing anything about SP or Offense, but we don't have a good defense anymore.

 

Well I always said it will work well for Rex when he wins but he will create enemies for when he loses. There is also a huge problem that Manish Mehta wants to be the next Adam Schefter and continues to write shit that people continue to read. Mehta and Cimini (not nearly as bad) have a clear cut agenda and that is to create viewers and they realize that they can do that by writing Jets bashing articles. Its funny how people only now start to realize how much of a jackass Mehta is by reading his article about Rex and Clemson and saying how off base that it is. Only many of them failed to realize that Mehta just makes shit up and calls it anonymous sources and knows that people will believe it.

back to the topic... rex is a great football coach. whether that will trnaslate into championships as a head coach or not remains to be seen, but his merit as a coach can not be questioned. the guy gets players to give blood for him and anybody that can take that lackluster mangini team full of guys playing like dogs that had been beaten too much by their owner into the fierce defense that he fielded in 09 has my vote.

give him some time to work it out. we always knew he was learning on the job.

 

Every year Rex has been here the Defense has gotten worse. The best defense was in 2009 which was made up of player Rex didn't draft and only a few FA he could sign. Every year Rex has added more of his players with high draft picks and FA, and our defense has been worse. If you want to get him credit then look at the whole picture. Give him credit for turning the Defense into a one that can't stop a running back even when they know its coming and a secondary which has new faces every year. Yea remember Rex praising Smith at safety.

With the 1st round picks we have drafted and all the former 1st round picks we have signed through FA, we should have a top 3 defense. Sad to say we are luck to have a top ten after five off seasons with Rex as HC.

 

Rex is a great defensive coach. The upgrade in OC will definitely help. Ultimitely the lack of QB talent, and the knives in wait from the GM, and owner, maybe his demise.

The elite "Tan-gini" built defense was ranked mid pack in 2008, so its pretty obvious Rex's scheme and his ability to coach players up is worth a lot more than the players drafted. You can have #1 draft picks at every position and if you have no clue how to use them, you lose. Eric smith is working at Walmart this season and he was a serviceable safety for us. If that isn't a star on Rex's resume, nothing he does will ever be good enough for you.

And Rex has been our HC for 4 season, not 5 - or more accurately, 4 seasons and an off season if you want to split hairs. Not sure why you older folk keep thinking a season only includes the off-season and not the playing season (Alzheimer's?). January concludes Rex's 5th season.

How about we play a regular season game before we jump to conclusions and make asinine statements.
