RT @AdamSchefter: Future Hall-of-Fame wide receiver Randy Moss has decided to retire rather than continue playing, agent Joel Segal said.
Did anyone else have trouble hearing the questions? I turn the speakers right up and can hear some incoherent mumbling, but then when Rex starts talking again my desk and walls vibrate. Good to have the pressers back though!
Good to see Rex. It's like having that really cool uncle from out of town pop over and say hellow after having been away for a few months.
I would love to have had a holy triumvirate of fat uncles made up of Rex, John Candy and John Goodman.
Cheers, I thought it was brought last year and they asked them to wait before asking questions, and then they would point a mic at them or something? Guess they all couldn`t keep their mouths shut long enough!
If it's anything like previous years, it will take a minimum of 2 hours for the trained orangutan that the Jets hired as a webmaster to edit dead air out of the presser and load it on the site.
Just like they are sayin on WFAN ya think Rex is insulting our intelligence by sayin this is the greatest roster we ever had when its obviously not on par with last year?
The only way you can say this roster is worse than last year is if you really believe Braylon was the key to this offense and you have absolutely no faith in any of our draft picks from the last two years.
I would disagree.... At WR, if you think Braylon is better then Plaxico, you can say we are slightly worse there. throw in smith and you can add depth special teams taking a minor hit. at Dline, we didnt bring back ellis(yet?), and if you think the rookies will be raw for at least a year, then you can say we stayed the same or got a bit worse there also. in the secondary, you can say we got worse at safety, without pool or ihedigbo, at the moment. no woody, so at least depth wise, the ol may take a very minor hit. we did a GREAT job brining back everyone we could within reason. im excited at all the talent we have. but it isnt some crazy notion we arent as talented as last year.
First off Tanny's not done. I know that shit eating "trader Mike" grin when I see it. Second off, again if you have no faith in our draft picks at all then we're worse, but I do. Ellis will probably be a little slower to develop but Wilk will be in our D-line rotation immediately and be crushing skulls by mid-season. Defensive line is not the most technical position in sports, it's mostly about killing the guy lined up in front of you. Kerley will at least be fantastic on teams and may get some slot work. McKnight will surprise people this year (which isn't hard because the expectations are almost nothing). Our safeties were iffy last year so that's a push, but again, Tanny's not done. Factor in 100% coaching continuity and another year of Nacho's progression and there's nothing that tells me we've dropped off a ton.
Rite now Braylon is considered better than Plax for the fact he hasnt played in 2 seasons and has no chemistry with Sanchez. This past years draft definately seems like it has promise, last years draft on the other hand leaves alot to be considered but hey there is still time.
I'm not saying he is done, but we can only go by who is on the team right now. Will wilkerson be better in year 1 then shaun ellis was last season? im not sure that is the case. that is A LOT different then saying i have no faith in our draft picks. Ellis played well last season. We were fantastic on special teams last year in the return game. i dont think we will drop off a ton either, i just said it isnt crazy to think we arent as good/talented as last year. obviously we can add guys still -- and i hope we do. but that is to be seen
