2 out of 4 (Landry and Pryor) of your picks were part of my draft => http://forums.theganggreen.com/showthread.php?t=79654 so I definitely like your picks. I think we improve on the outside we will see an improvement in the play of Cumberland. I don't think the same can be the other way around. That's why as much as I LOVE Ebron as a prospect, I just can't pick him ahead of the top 3 WRs. If Ebron was to fall to the 2nd, the top 3 WRs are off the board or we acquired another 1st round pick, then I would snatch him up no doubt.

Additional notes on Landry and Pryor. The great thing about Landry is that you can play him both inside and out. Our offense lately has become too reliant on the health of Kerley. When Kerley is out, you should be able to plug him in the slot without skipping a beat. Also I absolutely LOVE that catches EVERYTHING which is such a departure from what we've become use to lately. Some list Pryor as a SS but he plays both safety spots equally well. He and Hakeen Smith are interchangeable in their defense. Smith is a pretty good player in his own right; he just lacks the physical presence that Pryor brings to the table.

With such glaring holes on our offense, best case scenario is that we'd be sitting in a spot where someone would offer a kings ransom to tradeup for Johnny Manziel or Derek Carr.
That way we could trade down in the 1st, pick up an extra early 2nd rounder in 2014, something extra in 2015 & snag 3 guys in the first 2 rounds of 2014.
Dream scenario = David Yankey OG Stanford, Jordan Matthews WR Vanderbilt & ASJ TE Washington.

I should have prefaced that ^^^^^^ post by saying David Yankey will not be going in the 3rd round. I've seen the guy projected in late 1st round.

In the 1st 3 rounds we only have 4 but we might have 2 4ths if Landry got us a 4th in compensation.

I am alright with this draft. Curious if Idzik cares enough about his Aboushi/Campbell picks to not get a guard in round 3 though.

And yet another guy who has it backwards.

Any mock that does not include a QB in Round 1 or round 2 at the LATEST is an epic fail.

This is the year of the QB--the year you TAKE a QB, not the year to get the trinkets to surround some QB you may draft in the future.

One pick is not going to restock all the deficiencies at WR, TE, RB and OLine.

One pick COULD set you up for the next decade if you finally get your franchise QB.

Are we 11? Are we 5? Are we 18?

How does Carr grade out? Does Mariota come out and is he still on the board? How does Manziel grade out? Is Mettenberger healthy and how does he grade out? Is Murray healthy and how does he grade out?

QB IS the foundation--this is the year. You are still going to have at LEAST 7 more picks--possibly 8 or 9--to stockpile all the offense you want. Using a first round pick on ONE TE is not going to restock the cupboard of offensive playmakers.

well marcus mariota just announced he is staying at oregon for next season and i really want you to understand that you sound incredibly stupid. NO rookie QB would succeed in this situation, we NEED to set the foundation first. unless teddy bridgewater falls to us, i don't want to take a QB based on need. look at andrew luck without reggie wayne, he looks almost below average

One could infer from this that everyone of the QBs coming out will be good, at least the ones taken in the first 2 rounds. Also, why do you have the first 2 rounds requirement? Is there a drop off in talent after you get beyond those projected to go in those rounds?

Why do I sound "stupid" because many folks across the country thought he would come out and would be a top 5 pick?

That I want a franchise QB--a REAL one not a roll of the dice on a maybe QB at 39 in the worst draft class in recent memory?

And not ONCE did I say I want my ROOKIE QB starting from day 1--that's been proven to be a REALLY bad way to develop a QB. We've screwed that up twice--I want a REAL QB not a gamble.

Yes--in a year where teams are starved for QBs as many as 7-8 could go in rounds 1-2. After that the talent drops off because that's what the draft means.

How do any of us know if McCarron is going to last into round 3? Or Murray even WITH the ACL?

I don't know who's going to be available at 11 and I don't know how any of these guys are going to grade out.

I don't know if McCarron is a legit top 15 guy--I love the guy and think he'll be a GREAT pro. Would I take him at 11--I don't know. Would I take Mettenberger? Depends on how he grades out. I'm intrigued by Manziel. I'm intrigued by Carr--I haven't seen enough of him but people are saying he's the best of the bunh--possibly BETTER than Teddy. If he's there at 11, do you take him and possibly cement the position for a decade or do you take a TE that you could get a comparable one in the second?

if we draft any of those guys they won't look that much better than geno with these offensive weapons, but i do understand your point. look, i'm just tired of seeing crappy offensive output every damn year. i seriously believe that good weapons can make a mediocre QB good (matthew stafford isn't that good, calvin johnson is just that awesome) so i want to solidify the offense for years to come with these picks

LOL, thank you for making my point. Let's build around a mediocre QB.

Lets not shoot for Aaron Rogers or Brady or Manning or Brees.

Lets put some really good talent around a mediocre QB.
