One, Two, Many, More, Lots. That's like age old. One and two are discreet numbers. Many is any number over two that is not more. Lots is, can't count 'em, run for your life.
You think the quotes are legit, or just the sentiments? I will give you that before this story, Metha was well-respected but I still have my doubts that these are actual quotes
No one but Manish 100% knows they are true so why is this even being brought up again? They could very well be true and with all the crap that has came out since the season is over, i think its very possible that he is not just making stuff up. Go listen to Manish when he went on Joe and Evan a month ago on wfan.com to hear his reasons on why he kept them "anonymous". Its pretty obvious why but maybe JetsKickAss will finally see the light.....
Mehta is a journalist. When his sources request they remain anonymous, they remain anonymous, or he would never get another interview in his life.
Show me where he said 'many', Don. I'm pretty sure he said 'several', and there is a huge difference between those two words. Mainly that 'several' on a 53 man roster is not 'many'.
Well technically it could just be Plax, Holmes and the business guy that left a few weeks ago and an equipment guy whose departure was less well heralded. The wording was several key players and members of the organization. That could be as few as one player and other members of the organization.
Unless you are talking about items small enough to fit in a hand, or the size if a woman's breast, 'handful' describing a specific number tends to be referring to fingers.
I highly doubt it was Holmes. You're letting your Braylon love give you this blind hatred of the guy. He was quiet after the Dolphins game and knows he screwed up on national television. There's no way he's saying more things
You're letting your assumptions about what Santonio would or wouldn't do after embarrassing himself on national tv get in your way. It works both ways. Who knows who said what and in what quantity things were said exactly. The only thing that we can do is make assumptions, none of us here have any hardened facts regarding the report and the anonymous quotes were vague at best. To criticize a TGG poster for making a claim and doing to exact same thing within the same post seems odd.
Why do any of us want to keep this story alive? In one thread on this board, people are ripping Ryan for going public with a Sanchez/Holmes reconciliation effort and in this thread people want to revisit the entire mess. I just want this awful SB to be over with and for the Jets to move on to shaping the 2012 team. 2011 is in the past.
Cimini has been very projets during the Super Bowl week. Mehta didn't help himself with zjets fans but TMZSPN they'll love him.
I personally think there is way too much hatred for Manish over the story. Maybe he embellished a bit, but I do think there are people who doubt him in the locker room. But at the end of the day if its a guy like Plax who doubts him who cares. I would only care if Pouha, Mangold, Leohnard etc. doubts him and that isn't the case at all. Even Howard Green came out and defended him. I know its only Howard Green but a veteran player who isn't on the team coming out and defending him when he doesn't have to does at least say something.
Sportswriters have been jobbing the Jets for decades now. It's part of the normal flow of events. A guy starts covering the Jets and for a season or maybe even two he actually covers the Jets. Then he realizes this is a dog eat dog town and he begins looking for some dog to eat and the Jets always look kind of doggy after you've been covering them real close for a season or so. The only guys that escaped this fate were George Vescey of the Times, because the Times has a clause that says if you write like a tabloid writer you're going to be working for one soon, and Dr. Z who got the sweet deal from SI and took off running when he saw Namath go down. He knew what was coming next. It also really helps to have a wicked sense of humor if you cover the Jets. That way when you are looking to make mischief you can actually do that and make people laugh instead of cry.
