I agree with those who think that Lowery would be a very solid free safety. He's got good ball skills, hits pretty hard, clearly likes to blitz, and the role would largely mask his problems in man coverage.

In fact, if (when?) Pool gets hurt, I wouldn't be surprised to see Lowery shift over there.

I'm in agreement with this as well but for the time being Lowery can produce for us as the #4 CB in Nickel/Dime situations. He is a putrid starter but he can make plays in small packages and possibly as a Safety, too.

    Done...

“The coaching staff feels like I can have more of an impact as a safety,” Lowery told GreenAndWhiteReport.com. “They feel I can get on the field more and make plays from there.”

I loves ballhawks at the safety position...Actually I just love ballhawks. Lowery doesn't make many mental mistakes, when he got burnt it was usually because he just wasn't fast enough for the NFL's outside receivers.

Moving Lowery is probably a good idea. He's not much for man coverage as a cb.

Just as I've been calling for Gholston to move to end, I've been calling for Lowery to move to safety all along. It finally looks like they're going to do both this year. That's what I love about Rex; put people in the position that focuses on their strength and give them every opportunity to succeed. Make the system fit the player, rather than push square pegs into round holes.

We're going to have the best secondary in football this year.

Good read, I liked Lowery coming out of college, and the problems he had coming out are still there, but that still doesn't mean he cant become into a fine dime or nickle corner. Plus getting 3 INT from a dime corner is a great thing to have on defense

Hmmm, ball hawk, forces fumbled, blitzer, hard hitter, in the right spot...

    Should be starting safety. Jmo
