I don't think there's any "almost" about it.

Revis has been horrible for us this year. The only game changing plays hes been making are because he gets roasted. Percy Harvin had his best game of the season on Revis Island. Geezz Greg Lewis even got open on him.

He doesn't deserve his new contract, crap he doesn't even deserve the 1 million he was supposed to get this year originally.

well, im not a bandwagon fan. I've been a JETS fan way back when I was a kid. Started really paying attention during the end of the "Testaverde" era

Revis needs to get 100%, that's the bottom line. Rex even said it, if you're a corner and you're not 100% you really can't do the job in this defense. Between missing camp and being hurt, probably best to shut him down until after the bye and try to get him right for the second half of the season. He's not himself right now, putting him out there isn't helping us that much.

    Yes, we do.

You have Tanny on national TV speaking to his agent week 1 saying...

"What I'd say to him....is out side of that one transaction, you're the highest paid guy

So essentially, in the end He got what was on the table all along.

We are 4-1 with exactly zero production from Darrelle right? We beat NE, Minny, Mia & Bflo so the question is did RR erred in thinking that we needed DR to get us to the promised land & pushed Woody & Tanny into resolving the matter with Revis. Now as you suggest shutting Revis down until say game 9 meaning he was non productive for over 1/2 season makes one wonder if we bought a pig in the poke akin to what the Panthers did with his cuz way back when

Agree with you. Frankly, Revis has been more of a distraction to the team that helpful so far. The hold-out screwed us. He needs to get healthy for the second half of the season and play-off run. I am upset because his abscence will probably cost us a game when is all well and done. Sit his ass down till he is good to go.

this is what us BS about the contract. revis felt he outplayed the current deal paying him 1 mil this season. in the new re-worked deal, he is making 8 mil this season. does anyone feel like he has been worth the 8 mil? can the jets go back to him and say you know what, we feel you aren't playing well, you keep getting burnt and injured, we want you to take a pay cut until you please well and are healthy?

Could you not see that he wasn't running like he has in the past? Just watch the game film. It's obvious there is something wrong with him.

For those who think he is milking it. WTF?

People are giving up on him....don't.

It is not our money he is getting paid with. Just worry about performance. I am sure once he is fully healthy, he will be the Revis we all know.

But to sling insults and write him off, you are sadly mistaken. That talent that he displayed last year didn't suddenly just disappear, he just doesn't have his legs under him yet.

Be glad the team is 4-1 that with some obvious struggles in the secondary, Darrelle included.

    Thank you.

The team (no I in team) is 4 -1 and still has room for improvements. It's not like we shot our load and will fall off into oblivion. Pace and Revis can round into form, Sanchez can improve on some throws, the O-line can tighten up on some things, etc.

All this negativity during the fine start is unwarranted.

Maybe but I saw he flat out stopped when Harvin beat him and let him walk into the end zone. He said he was good to go. If he wasn't then he is lying on top of everything else.

I agree that people shouldn't give up on him but since this was the worst possible case of his holdout he does deserve a bit of criticism.

We know what he is, but he missed camp and set himself back. So you can fix it now and have him ready for when we have to deal with the elite teams down the road, or have him in and out of games all year not being himself. You can't take any games for granted, like Denver, Detroit, or whatnot, but we do have a bye and two NFC opponents after that, so now would be the time to do it.

What can be more important than player's salary in a salary cap league?

    ===
It is best to include the bye week into Revis recovery. Especially since Denver is so banged up, I'm thinking the offense can overpower their D.

Are the Jets struggling with salary cap issues?

    No.

Only one of the "core four" has yet to be extended. And that will happen soon enough.

So what is the issue with him getting paid if it is not coming out of your wallet?
