    Holy shit!

If Idzik were to pull this off, I don't even know what to think. I would be in all my glory

The biggest asset that the Jets have right now, the thing that actually wins them more games than any other single thing, is Rex Ryan's defensive acumen.

That's not to say Rex is the ultimate answer because defensive coaching ability can only take you so far. But if you look objectively at the 2013 Jets going into the season the biggest thing they have going for them is Rex.

So when you trade Rex's biggest asset defensively, Darrelle Revis, it makes a lot of sense to also trade his biggest liability, Mark Sanchez.

Geez now u can just about pencil in smith or Barkley or another getting chosen by the jets.

I can see spending a 4th or so on someone this year but I am not thrilled about anything higher.

if we were to do the Sanchez/Revis trade then we will most likely be taking Geno Smith.

Yeah if we plan on taking Geno no reason to keep Shitchez since that'd be the sign that he's done in New York if it already isn't obvious

Geno at 9 and trade back the 13th pick to get more picks. take Deandre Hopkins in the 20's. would be a dream scenario.

While this seems like a good deal, I think taking Geno would be a huge waste of a pick. Honestly he's going to be Sanchez part 2 or worse. Any chance we do this and hope Gerard works out and instead get actual quality players?

Sanchez to Tampa makes no sense if your trying to groom a young QB like Freeman, but hey, if Schiano wants create some controversy, more power to him and the Bucs.

Also, that would mean out and out that the Jets are admitting to giving up on the 2013 season because they have no viable starting QB to take over. Jets are trying to implement a WCO and to place a rookie QB in that frying pan, if they were to draft Smith ( Ugh, please no), IDK. Makes no sense.

the more I think about it, the more I think it's a bluff. I honestly don't think Revis is going anywhere.

Another sub par QB thrown in at starter right away, then wasting 3+ years on trying to develop somene that is 2nd string material. There is a reason no one's excited about him and why he'll easily drop to 9 or lower.

I wonder how much of Sanchez's salary we would have to eat in that scenario. No way the Bucs would take on the whole lot.

I agree to that point about Rex, and the D. He will make the Jets competitive if for that reason alone.

But to give away their one legitimate starting QB without someone to take over the helm? I don't see it. I have little faith in McElroy or Garrard doing anything substantial based on what I've seen so far. Maybe there's something intangible I'm missing?

    this is all wrong

Geno has faults yes but he is not sub par and will thrive with proper coaching

Dont compare an Idzik and Geno pairing to Tanny and Sanchez

yeh i dont buy it. dont we take a cap hit if sanchez is traded anyway?

with the moves the team is making, bringing in a pass rusher, a good vet safety, trying to build o-line depth, getting pace back for a lower salary, it dont think anyone in the jets organization is thinking this season is a throw away. they want to be competitive. and that means they want to be good.

A trade before June 1 would trigger an immediate cap charge of $8.9 million, along with any portion of the $8.25 million in guaranteed salary that the Jets would have to pay in order to make the trade happen. If, for example, the Jets ship Sanchez to TB and the Jets agree to pay $5.25 million of the base salary while the Bucs pay the remaining $3 million, the total cap hit for the Jets would be $14.15 million.

The best thing would be for TB to take what we owe him this year and we only take the $8 million hit from trading him

This is what Idzik is thinking right now:

Trade Revis and get a pick in 2013 plus others in 2014 including a conditional first rounder. Trade Sanchez to them as well to guarantee they suck enough so the conditional pick would be in the top 5 in 2014 LMAO

Maybe it's just gonna be #13 this year for Revis & Sanchez?
If the Bucs said it's the first this year and that's it for Revis, Idzik may have said that's not enough but if you won't give more picks you can take the Sanchise!
Don't think we get multiple picks if Sanchez goes to Bucs.

    As do I LOL

I think Idzik is trying to get an amazing deal from them by adding Sanchez in and getting multiple first rounders. In his mind, if it doesn't happen, so be it. I guarantee you he has a plan for signing Revis long term in his pocket.
