So basically we signed him for an extra year worth a (supposed) total value of 25 million with an extra (supposed) 11 million guaranteed. I say supposed because the actual contract hasn't been reviewed yet, but by the numbers reported he jumped from what he was scheduled to make (3 years, 21 million all guaranteed) to over double the amount by giving up just one more year (4 year, 46 total, 32 guaranteed). I mean, how does it not look like Revis won this? It's nice he's back, but I no longer have much of a high opinion of him. Such a horrible opposite in essence, cutting T-Rich and in a way, caving to Revis all in the same 24 hours. Why does Tanny just cave to these agents when it comes to Revis (his rookie contract was ridiculous, teams around the league hated the Jets for that contract).
Of course Revis "won" this. He wanted a new contract with 3 years left on his deal and he got one. It was up to him if he wanted to sign or not. With that said, I think it's more than fair. The Jets will also not be on the hook for $15 million in 2012.
if it is 4 years at 32 million then that averages to 8 million per year - which is less than what the top CB's in the league are making, so this is a great deal for the jets IMO.
Aren't you the same guy that wanted him dealt? Your fear of Revis coming back was evident in every one of your posts because you know like everyone else that with 24 in the building, this is the most dangerous defense in the NFL. THE MOST DANGEROUS FUCKING DEFENSE IN THE NATIONAL FOOTBALL LEAGUE. SUCK ON THAT JACK! There was about a split second where I was still mad at 24 for missing all of camp. But fuck that. Today is a day of celebration in the name of Revis.
