He spent 11 years with us and left because he wanted to get paid. What he did back then is normal by today's standards. If we're not careful, we might add QW to the slate of Jet stars that left because of money.
you gotta pay your superstars I get that but Revis coulda done more to get Jets fans to like him more For example he pretty much forced the Jets to trade him when he threatened a hold out for the 3rd time in 2013. (coming off an ACL injury mind you). However when asked about that years later when he was back with the Jets he said he didn't feel bad to Jets fans about it because it was a decision made by "Jets management." Which was just a dick thing to say when he knew full well he forced their hand
Very few of them are. Who cares? When he was in the uniform (the first time at least) there was no one better
The Jets losing Revis was completely on the Jets. Sorry. The NFL has a system where you do not have to lose your best players. Relinquishing that power was complete incompetence by the GM
That does seem to be the lowest-,hanging fruit. And that is the Official Fruit of the National Football League™.
and bigger incompetency was not bringing him back rt when TB let him go.... He wouldve looked like a genius getting a 1st rd pick for renting Revis for a season which was to be a down year anyway. Instead he went to the Pats ....
Kinda takes a little shine off of it that that overrated midget Zach Thomas will be inducted on the same day
People seem to forget that Revis got injured and then the Jets traded him away within a year. He never wanted to leave the team. It was 100% on the Jets, and you can't blame him for signing with the Pats afterward to chase a title. He was a top notch corner, although it can be argued his play wasn't as great post injury.
for me he was better than deion, revis was a really good tackler until he realized the team and league doesnt give a shit about his health or his future. then he decided to stop tackling. deion wasnt ever able or willing to tackle. best man cover corner but not full corner.
That's an interesting take and everyone would agree Deion did not stick his head in there. But in Deion favor he had 9 pick-6's to Revis 3 . Deion had 53 interceptions and 10 forced fumbles--Revis 29 and 6.
That situation would be like a man’s wife running off and having an affair and he then taking her back again and applauding her accomplishments afterwards……or should I say shrugging them off LOL Granted I get it’s a business and yeah that 2009 season was the best ever by a CB but still……
