I don't believe it's 14 mill PLUS salary. I think the 'at least' part is something like $6.2 mill for year 5 and $8 mill for year 6 or something like that.... Doesn't really matter; they'll likely rework the contract and sign some sort of extension at that point.
If Revis is an absolute stud, the Jets FO would buy those years (and consider it cheap) and work in an extension. If Revis sucks, we let him go after the 4th year. If Revis is something in between, the FO and Revis' agent will work out something in between. Sheesh, people need to stop being so over the top with this stuff.
Basically the Jets got four years plus the right to effectively franchise Revis three times, the first two not counting against their tag and the first one actually very cheaply. It's not a bad deal.

This is a very good deal for the Jets. LMAO on the people saying egg on the FO's face. Jesus it is a 4 year contract with the Jets having the right to buy the last 2 years. How on god's green earth is that a bad deal if Revis is a stud...................... and he will be. Educate yourselves before you comment.
