What should Rex do?

  1. Sit his ass and wait for after the bye week

  2. Play him, what did we wait some 30+ days in the offseason for anyway?

Sitting him would be a bad idea. The man needs reps to get back into football shape, not more time off hanging with Geiger and playing video games. I'd keep the reps limited though just to ensure he won't re-aggravate his hammy.

Imagine what the outcry will be if he plays and then re-injures himself. Sit him.

Use him only sparingly. I don't think he'll play but I'd only use him a little bit.

i'd play him but maybe only 75% of the snaps so he's not dragging ass in the 4th quarter.

maybe he looked off because he hasnt played in a couple games and missed all of training camp. Getting an extra week off isnt going to make him all of a sudden turn into last year Revis. He needs to keep playing and practicing.

Play him. 100% of the snaps. Woody didn't give him that contract to rap.

thats the best idea i've heard so far. it'd be ideal especially if we're blowing them out. i think it's gonna be a close game though, but doing it this way would be better in the long term.

Use Wilson. If he gets burned, bring on Revis.

Don't be a pussy, just start him. He says he's ready. If he looks like he's running half-speed out there, then you sit him and let him rest over the bye week.

I say play him in a limited role. He doesn't have to be out there on the #1 every down. Play him on obvious passing downs and the #2/3 receiver so he gets some playing time and works that hammy a bit. Practice and treatment are good but I think playing on his leg for real will do him some good to get him back up to speed.

What if he's running half speed because he reinjured it?

Revis is not going to have a dominate season this year like he did last year, Hes not as motivated and missed all of training camp. Any time he gets burned or has a bad game look for him to go reaching for that hamstring.

Bringing him in for a high-pressure situation isn't going to help him. Let him take a few reps early to test it then play it from there.

I disagree, the injury was caused by lack of preparation. The hamstring is very sensitive/delicate, once injured it's something that you NEED to rest & GRADUALLY build up to the point where you can use it without worry of re-aggravating the condition. Just see how the Jose Reyes situation was handled.

PS-personally I don't think Revis is 100% & ready to play, he knows Rex said the decision is up to him & he's just saying this to save some type of face.

I think what really hurt him on Monday night was the delay. He comes out gets the hammy warm during pre-game warm ups and then he has to go back in for 45 minutes and it gets cold. He then has to warm it up again. This and the halftime break was probably just too much for it to take. IMO.

I think he'll play and play well. No need to sit him if he's good to go.

Then he reinjures it. You can't just bench everybody because you're afraid they'll get hurt. He says he's ready and the doc clears him to play, then put him on the field.

i really like the idea of only playing him in the first half. he played very well in the first half of the viking game. then his conditioning or lack thereof fucked him over in the second half. this way he gets the game time snaps he needs but he doesn’t have to push it and risk re-injuring it.

After reading this thread I thought Revis was going to sound 100% confident about playing but that is not the vibe I got from watching the video. I think he sits.

    Revis is pissing me off.

And truthfully, I don't think he was as important as we all expected him to be.

But then again, no one expected our offense to be this good.
