I think the root of the misunderstanding here is your not understanding what a scapegoat is.

No youre definitely scapegoating for him. You casually implied that it was the team and not Fitzpatrick.

Petty looked better in preseason and I don't give a shit if they decide to go with him over Geno...just get this 9 pick in 2 game clown off the field

look at the ratings and he looked light yrs better then smith. He was making completions and looked sharp making the correct reads where Geno could not make the right choice if he only had one option to choose from.
Look at the stats and tell me how the f do you think Geno looked good in the preseaon because that is simply not true

The bottom line here is, Geno Smith sucks.

And, because of that, we're stuck with Ryan Fitzpatrick.

Geno did not have a good preseason but either did Fitz...its also true that Geno was mostly playing against NFL players (backups) while Petty's competition is mostly out of the league or on practice squads

Regardless just move on from Fitz and fast

First off, i said in the preseason none of them looked good, so say petty looked great, no. He couldnt make second reads. So why would you expect him to do that now? I've said it all season long.

Petty played as well as Geno in preseason.

If Fitz throws 7 interceptions next week, buttfumbles, runs out of the endzone, waves his dick around, insults the fans etc.. and HAS to be benched then we're 1-4 and even if we get 'pro-bowl' Geno for 11 games......we're not going to the playoffs with all the other parts of this team not working.

You may as well stick Petty in to see what he can do rather then ride with the impending FA for the sake of a couple of futile wins which pushes us down the draft board and resolves nothing looking forward to next year.

You're right; best case scenario he somehow corrects course, rallies the troops and makes the playoffs. Does anyone think he doesn't come apart at the seems in epic fasion right when it maters?
    Exhibit A : Week 17 2015

The worst part, I have buyer's remorse for paying $300 for NFL Sunday Ticket.
    The price gouging is shameless.

The Argument that we need to see what We have in Petty is funny because we truly do not know what we have in Geno and that needs to be figured out first.

Did you live under a rock from 2013-2014? How about the second half of his career at WVU?

Ryan Fitzpatrick has 0 TD passes and 11 INT in 4th quarter over last 5 games. He has NFL-worst 16 4th-quarter INT since start of last season

My only point is that there's not a qb on this team that elevates the level enough to change the record. You seem to believe Geno Smith is our savior. You are wrong.

I'd like for the Jets to start Geno so that truth becomes more evident and we can move on to the next possible qb in Petty.

You already know what i believe. We need to see what we have in the other players and Geno comes before Petty. If Geno fails, ill be calling for his head too.

Tom Brady wouldn't succeed with Decker as his number 1 and Kerley as his number 2.
