Don't understand why everyone is so happy Foles is on the market. When he goes and signs a multi year deal somewhere else for millions more than Fitz is asking for, what do you think that will do to the price for Fitzpatrick?
There isn't team out there giving him that kind of money. If there was, they would have given it to Fitz already.
Yeah I edited it out before you posted. If Foles is willing to take something more reasonable then yeah I agree it puts pressure on Fitzpatrick to get a deal done. I think the Jets still prefer Fitz, only at their price (which could even go down)

Not the worst deal in the world, still would've liked it better at $10m if it was just 1 year or the $8m per over the course of 3 to ease the year one cap hit. Don't know why they couldn't offer this when it was rumored he'd take it back in May to get him in for the offseason program.

surprised at these terms, this is what Fitzpatrick said he would do from the beginning. Why would the Jets do this now? Seems like they had more leverage, I was expecting something like 2 for 18 or 20 so that's that, LGJ!!!!!
I'm pretty sure that this is what Fitz did NOT want. He wanted more than one years worth of security. I think it eventually came out that he would except this kind of offer if it came down to it and it looks like those reports were right.

yeah when people were crying greed by Fitz, I don't think they realized he said he'd do 1yr 12M all along. I thought the compromise would end up around 2yr 20M also, but I'm happy they got him in at least. we'll revisit terms next season.
