I am with you... he is what he is and may know the system better then Geno but who knows at this point for sure.

Let's get 100% technical since you keep taking my words so extreme. I mean they are done with him as a starter or potential future starting QB. You don't offer Fitz all this money, draft Hackenberg and talk about keeping 4 QB's on the roster if you are sold on Geno and want to see what he has to offer. You can agree with that, right?

Exactly... he did his thing last year.. (to NY Jets QB standards) ... but lets not forget his last 11 years and the buffalo game week 17.

They've both made it to exactly the same amount of playoff games.

How can you say they're done with him when there's atleast a decent shot he starts this season?

If he ends up riding the bench and never does anything in practice to wow them then yeah he's probably done but I don't think anything is off the table at this point

If Geno ends up playing and does a decent job while showing some potential I doubt they would get rid of him for the future

He's just a big question mark more than anything at this point

He is a gamer, but his athleticism is wayyy too limiting. His arm is incredibly weak for an NFL starter and limits the routes his receivers can run. His deep balls might be the worst the league has to offer, and by that I mean starter/backup in the NFL.

This is 100% correct...we all saw it game in and game out.....Devin Smith may have been looked at a lot differently if a QB could have got him the ball on all of those deep bombs where he had his man beat only to have Fitz under throw a lollipop

He's a perfect backup QB at this point

when the rams cut foles, Fits is going to have a couple of minutes to take the Jets offer or they should sign Foles.

No other Jets plays should bitch about the Jets FO now that we took care of Mo.

Fitzpatrick cannot be fighting over a big contract

Who's to say that 3-year offer stands, Fitz accepts under the condition that if he has another great season ala last year, the Jets will do their due diligence to restructure or let him go instead of paying him $6-8M only?

Why I like Fitz over Geno, despite the weak arm and everything else...sacks. The man does not get sacked. He saved so many drives last season. I really hope this gets done before camp.

Fitz sack total was the lowest of his starting career last year and was only about half a sack per game lower then Genos 2nd year and that was with improved Oline performance over Genos year.

Its time to let Geno have a shot with proper weapons and tell Fitz's camp to piss off with his putrid demands.

Fk TD's throw due to Marshall & Decker.

Can ANY Fitzpatrick supporter tell me where Fitzpatrick ranked amongst other NFL QB's in...

    ° QB completion percentage:
    ° Average Yards per Attempt:
    ° INT's thrown:
    °QB Rating:

    ?

I'll be waiting. And when one of you Firz supporters gather the courage to list those (laughing stock) rankings? I'll be right here laughing.

I'd rather give a 4th year kid in Geno or even raw kids like Petty or Hack before ever going with a career mediocre journeyman in Fitz ever again.

The guy has Pennington arm-like limitations (without Chad's accuracy).

The arm strength really is a killer. Not only did he rank 33rd in completion percentage over 20 yards, but the images of his throws dying in the wind in the first quarter of week 17 still haunt me. 15 yard out route to Marshall and the ball sinks and bounces to him.

    Exactly.

Marshall & Decker feast regardless of QB but watching Firz last year reminded me of a washed up Pennington in terms of QB limitations due to a duck arm & unlike Pennington his accuracy is drop dead awful.

Fitz ranked at the very bottom in all of A.) completion percentage (horrid accuracy) B.) average yards per attempt (noodle arm) C.) INT's thrown (mediocre journeyman) & D.) QB Rating (He actually freaking sucked monkey balls).

I've always been known as Mr. Sunshine, Ray of Light, Homer, Green colored goggles, Drinking the green Kool-Aid, homerism at it's finest, unrealistic etc etc so for me to consider Fitz as a Pennington noodle arm of limitations without Chad's accuracy? That's saying something. I'm not just some type of negative nacy who's harping all over Fitz. I'm an optimistic fan whom has no optimism for Firz whatsoever.

It is kind of disrespectful to Chad to mention him and Fitz in the same breath.

Chad was an extremely smart QB and always knew where to go to the ball. Remember the ridiculous stretch of games he had before throwing his first ever red zone interception.

People keep talking about Fitz's year last year being the great year for a Jets QB, I'll take Chad's 2002 year of his last year any day.

    Career Numbers
    Completion % 66% to 60%
    Yards/Attempt 7.2 to 6.7
    Rating 90 to 80
Interceptions 64 in 81 starts to 116 in 105 starts

Chad led his team to playoffs 4 times winning 2 playoff games and won 2 Comeback Player of the Year Awards.

    @RapSheet
Discussed #Jets & QB Ryan Fitzpatrick situation on @NFLTotalAccess: It’s starting to have the feel of something that could go well into camp

    @RapSheet
Could #Jets have to see not just practice reps but game reps of QB Geno Smith before there is movement on Ryan Fitzpatrick? Sounds like it.
