Always had that alcohol problem..Haha Namath is p/o d at Fitz because he shows no appreciation of a good team? SMH Won't stop me from getting his Autograph
Speaking at an event honoring vice president Joe Biden, Namath said Smith will be the Jets’ starter even if Ryan Fitzpatrick returns. “I think Geno’s going to be the starting quarterback no matter if Fitzpatrick comes back or not,” Namath said, via Newsday. First time I've heard someone say this
Lol you a teenager? He's a professional athlete looking to make as much as he can. Namath was my all time favorite professional athlete and if he were playing today (i) he wouldn't say SHIT about another players contract and (ii) he'd hold out for as much as possible and then some because he's Broadway Joe. Stop being naive. _
How much time is Joe spending at OTAs, camps, in the QB room, on campus? His opinion, as much as I love the guy, is as worthless as anyone's here. _
I really don't care enough to argue with you. We're both fans of the same team. I just post here for fun.
I love the guy, but that wife-beating drunks opinion on the current state of the Jets is pretty useless.
I read an article that said Namath believes Smith will start even if Fitzpatrick returns; I missed anything that looks like he even nicked Fitz a bit. Anyway, I'm glad Broadway Joe said this because within two months we'll be sure who knows more about NFL football, me or Namath.
Namath is hilarious. Barring injury: Fitz would start with ease. You don't pay a QB $12 mil+ to sit behind a $1 mil QB who is terrible.
Hard ball may be a bit strong... But unless I missed something, Mac offered a dollar amount and hasn't budged from that. Do you know something different?
That doesn't mean someones point isn't valid or necessarily worse than our own front office's. Yeah, there are plenty of dumb opinions on here, but that doesn't mean we're always wrong. In fact, its on film, watch the "Draft Blunder" video on youtube and that yields great video evidence of how the fans wanted Marino and Sapp and "the professionals" gave us Kyle Brady and Ken O'Brien instead.
It's a good thing that these negotiations take place behind closed doors, but even then people read a tweet or two and think they've read the entire contract. There are indications that the sides are not far apart on the total value of a contract but the structure of salary, bonuses and their affect on the salary cap are the snags that need to be worked out. If that is truly the case why would either side want to play hardball?
The post you're responding to was in answer to a guy who said "While I think its pointless giving advice to the FO on a message board, I hope they understand the value of a guy getting 1st team reps throughout training camp." Forget your video for now, the question was not about specific players but whether an NFL front office doesn't understand the value of training camp.
This sellout of Fitz by TGG resembles some of the worst crashes on Wall Street....but as we all know the Market bounces back up with a vengeance
