    So you're saying there's a chance.

I'm texting him right now. You're off the bandwagon when it happens.

I was never on the Petty bandwagon. As I recall we both were content not being on that wagon, then we drafted him and you started driving the wagon.

I actually started driving the wagon after his bowl game performance. I watched him a lot during the year and saw some great stuff but my first impression was the WVU game which he was awful in.

But I realized my off-the-charts man love for Marcus was going to be unrequited so I started to look around at plan B.

His bowl game put me way over the top.

I cried and whined here like a little bitch about Mariota and trading up and how we should have tanked but once I realized it was never going to happen, I secretly started a Petty bandwagon of one.

When Mac traded up FOR Petty my head almost exploded.

    It was definitely pre-draft.

Just my opinion, but I think that Wentz and Goff will both be successful starters. If I had the opportunity to take either one, I would jump at the chance. If I had to choose between the two, I would lean toward Wentz because he's literally the perfect prospect aside from the whole FCS thing.

At least they'll be some legroom behind the drivers seat.

Frankly...I thought there'd be a more calls for tossing Petty in the frying pan if Fitz doesn't come to his senses.

I have high hopes for him, and think its best for his and the Jets future that he sits a bit more.

Could not agree more. I wish the coaching staff was a little more gung ho on him.

What if that means GeNo starts?

Do we let Petty sit and learn under Smith?

The behind-the-back end zone fumblerooski is not as easy as it looks.

Shhhh! Don't destroy my hopes! LOL He may not be, but even if the Jets KNOW he will be the answer, I'd still want them talking to QBs in the draft as part of their due diligence, and so that other teams won't know what they're doing.

I don't think Petty would be learning from Smith except perhaps what not to do. Petty may still be working on reading Ds. Even as bad as he has been at times, Geno would be the logical player to start since he has two years of starting experience, especially if Brick and Geno are still our OTs. I wouldn't want Petty to get injured right off the bat. Geno's probably faster and a little more mobile.

Looks like Kaep is going to Denver. Hopefully, that's all the leverage we need to get a deal done.

What other suitors are even left?

There are no more starting QB spots besides us and the Rams.. Can't see them starting a new franchise with Fitz... He either retires or plays for the Jets for $8 mil next year......

If the Rams wanted Fitz, they would have made him an offer by now. My guess is now Fitz's agent contacts the 49ers and sees if they're interested. I don't think Fitz would want to play for SF, but he could use them as leverage to drive his price up. If the 49ers won't top the Jets' offer, then Fitz will either take the 8M Macc offered him or retire.

There were rumors that the 9ers had interest in Fitzpatrick.

Unless they're both gone, the 9ers are taking Goff or Wentz at 7. There's not a reason the 9ers would offer him more than 8 million, anyway. They're not a team that could make a playoff push with him.

The only teams I was worried about were Denver, Houston, and maybe Philly. They're all out of the running, so I'll be shocked if he doesn't come back for at least one more year.

Also Brandon Weeden just re-uped with Houston for 2 years, Texans are 100% out.
