Let the front office handle it. Russo, Metha etc. know nothing. Anytime a player is negotiating through the media he is in a weak position. Fitz. is a journeyman and that's all he will ever be. If the pros decide that the Jets need him let them decide the price. Otherwise it's time to move on.

    i would understand it

and id never forgive this team for giving fitz 12-14 million.

id rather go 5-11 or 6-10 with geno then go 8-8 or 9-7 with fitz or even 10-6 again.

Apparently Fitz is still at Radio City Music Hall. Some random Twitter users are speculating he'll announce he's coming back tonight. Who knows, it would be funny if he did.

All you'd need is Suzyn Waldman to announce it breathless on the air.

    OH MY GOODNESS GRACIOUS!

I mean I don't think he'd show up to a big local event and invite the public attention if he was planning to leave but goofier things have happened.

the only thing garbage is your response, which is based on nonsense.

How is Hoyer "garbage". and comparatively how is Fitz any better?

    Hoyer -
    237 yards a game
    7.1 Yards per attempt
    60.7 Completion%
    19 touchdowns (2.1 Per Game)
    7 interceptions
    91.4 QB Rating

    Fitz -
    244 yards a game
    6.9 Yards per attempt
    59.6 Completion%
    31 touchdowns (2.06 Per Game)
    15 interceptions
    88.0 QB Rating

Hoyer is basically the younger version of fitz, who had a better year then fitz did with the same team prior, and who played better then fitz last season.

Is hoyer a franchise QB and long term solution? no. but he is probably the best option. would cost just under 5 million, not 9-16 million, can step in and play right away, and has been productive. i see no reason why he cant match or suprass what fitz did last season

The other positive is that Hoyer had Hopkins and that was it. In this offense he would do very well. The only downfall is he doesn't have the mobility or speed of Fitz. Fitz's ability to get rid of the ball quickly is under estimated.

Nothing's going to change until Kaepernick becomes locked in to the 49ers. This happens tomorrow around 4. I feel like after that happens, he will come back down to earth and start negotiating again. We just have to wait for the dust to settle. I personally feel 10-11m is fair and would even go to $12m if need be. I think he'll reduce his demands to $14m or lower, then the Jets will meet halfway around 10ish. At least I hope. 9m is beyond fair for what he did last year and could possibly do this year without a broken thumb.

I think Fitz knows his best chance at success would be to sign with the Jets. Does he value money over a chance to make the playoffs, something he's never done? I'm not so sure he does. He's in the perfect system, with top notch WRs, he'd be crazy to go anywhere else. Denver's stacked as well, but he's not a great fit for the system.

If I was the Jets, I'd want to keep Fitz in the fold even after his playing career. He is very smart, and gets along great with his teammates. Would he make a good QB coach? Sounds like it to me. Offer the guy a home...

Bottom line is with the cap the Jets can't re-sign Fitzpatrick or make a move for a QB until either Mo Wilk is dealt or Ferguson is released. They don't have the cap space so don't expect any moves to happen until something gives there.
