Who exactly was predicting Trump was going to be the GOP nominee even as late as November 2015? I remember a lot of pollsters of all stripes who just assumed that Rubio and then Cruz would kick Trump's ass once things got down to a one-on-one.
I'm sorry, but there is a big difference between saying "Statistics say that Trump will not be the nominee" and "Trump has a better chance of cameoing in another 'Home Alone' movie with Macaulay Culkin — or playing in the NBA Finals — than winning the Republican nomination"
Did Trump really praise Saddam Hussein the other day? http://www.politico.com/story/2016/07/trump-praise-saddam-hussein-225149 wow.. guess we should have left Saddam in place.
In trump's defense, I think we can all agree that both the US and the Iraqis were far better off with him in place than we are now after a dozen or so years of unrelenting bloodshed and chaos which has now infected the rest of the mideast.
uh, yea - we should have. Is that really debatable at this point? We spent trillions of dollars and thousands of lives on a war we didn't need to get involved with and then pulled out too soon leaving a massive vacuum for the likes of ISIS to flourish. I can't imagine anyone believes that was a good thing we did?
all those people died for oil and to help make America richer. As for Saddam, yes he should of remained. We had no business invading Iraq. I strongly think if we left all of our focus on Afghanistan the war would of ended a lot sooner, especially since we were kicking the Tailban's asses.
Ivanka for VP? Eric Trump, Bob Corker support Trump/Trump ticket. The DSLs will be out in full force if true.. http://www.usatoday.com/story/news/...anka-trump-vp-eric-trump-bob-corker/86794728/
Of course we should have. We had to deal with one dictator back then instead of who knows how many fanatical radical groups. You can negotiate with a dictator. There's no negotiations with religious lunatics.
There is no black and white in this world. Dude was evil as can be, murdering the kurds, testing his biological weapons on them but that dude knew how to keep the warring tribes in their place.
Does this apply to Syria too? Should we have just stayed the hell out of Syria's internal affairs and let Assad do what Assad would do? Because I seem to recall a huge push (again) from the GOP to intervene and knock him down. Are we learning anything from all of this or is it just our internal politics destroying structures around the world on a continuing basis and then being surprised when that comes back to bite us in worse ways?
The same applies to Syria, Libya, Egypt or any other Middle East country. Removing a dictator creates a power vacuum that's immediately filled by multiple wannabe dictators who begin fighting for power, killing thousands in the process.
actually the republican candidate for president right now is alright with letting Assad oversee that mess. The democratic candidate is the one who can't figure out if we do or dont like Assad
Which was a better place for all of them to be. I'm not saying the guy was a saint, just that removing him without actually planning to stay there for the long haul and rebuild so that all hell breaks loose is a lesson we never seem to learn.
They don't care what he's doing on a human rights level, they care that he's blocking a natural gas pipeline to Turkey.
