If Trump gets elected I have no doubts that Pee Wee Herman could get elected in 2024.

I'm starting to lean back towards Trump doesn't want to get elected again. This year he'd have an excellent shot if he just shut his mouth for 3 months and only ran ads that were scripted by sane people.

    http://www.qu.edu/news-and-events/quinnipiac-university-poll/national/release-detail?ReleaseID=2363

Democrat Hillary Clinton has 42 percent to Republican Donald Trump's 40 percent - too close to call - as American voters say neither candidate would be a good president and that the campaign has increased hatred and prejudice in the nation, according to a Quinnipiac University National poll released today.

This compares to results of a June 1 national poll by the independent Quinnipiac (KWIN- uh-pe-ack) University, showing Clinton edging Trump 45 - 41 percent.

When third party candidates are added to today's survey, Clinton gets 39 percent with Trump at 37 percent. Libertarian Party candidate Gary Johnson gets 8 percent and Green Party candidate Jill Stein gets 4 percent.

This is what happens when the quality candidates don't want to put themselves or their families thru the rigors of a POTUS election. They've seen how their lives would be ripped open and for $400K or so a year, it just isn't worth it anymore. Moderates are no longer welcome but only extremists and ideologues from all side of the political spectrum run for POTUS now. There's no good candidates. We're not voting for who we like the most, but whom we dislike the least. Might as well go parliamentary and make POTUS simply an Prime Minister like position. The biggest threat to this country isn't ISIS, its Partisanship.

I don't think the $400K figures into anyone running for president.

    That's not a balancing issue.

If they made it a worthwhile CEO-like salary you might actually get some worthy candidates though. As it stands it's not worth the trouble for most competent people who can run a big time operation. We're left with the megalomaniac douchebags.

400k per year plus the contacts the US president has probably yields a fair amount of public appearance money in private life.

The (R) by his name erases everything negative about trump. Your statement doesn't matter.

Especially when your wife is running the state department and foreign entities need some favors.
