I think she is talking about the other side of the world. What makes you think her opinion of events there has any relation to laws here? Where is any statement from her that she would work towards that kind of legislation here?
Just because she hasn't proposed legislation doesn't mean she doesn't want something. Doesn't it speak to her ideology? I will admit that being the serial liar that she is it could just be shit she spews to an audience to garner votes.

But she's never even told an audience she wants to go out and collect guns. There seems to be an ideological paranoia about that among those who have the personal paranoia that tells them they need to carry a firearm wherever they go. So when she applauds the Australian gun laws, it's meaningless and we should ignore it? Obviously that's something she thought was a good move and given the opportunity I have no doubt she'd pursue it. You can pretend like that's not what she wants, but there seems to be evidence contradicting that. I also doubt she'd ever have that opportunity.

Wrong thread for this but Hillary can't be like Angela Merkel if she wins the Presidency. Merkel just has a seat at the table. She's working under EU constraints, NATO constraints and the constraints of working in a Parliamentary system. The US President is working under far fewer actual constraints, if seemingly insurmountable ones at times.
