Looks like the Repub talking points on climate change have been revised. Now they're not denying. Or commenting. Just saying it would kill the economy. And that the Chinese are worse. Funny they all say the same thing like they're coached (as a group). It would have been idiotic to deny when just a few miles from the Reagan Library there are forest fires and in the entire state long term droughts.

I long for the days before climate change when there were no forest fires and drought.

Well the thing about climate change is that it's a scientific fact that even last night the Repubs couldn't refute. Why is climate change a political issue anyways. I think we know the answer to that one.

There were only a few Repubs in both debates who addressed two of the key points in terms of effectiveness of a President: working with the Dems and Congress, in other words the ability to compromise. And respecting the Supreme Court even if you don't agree with their decisions. So the guys I saw who were in this category were: Pataki, Lindsay Graham, Kasich. btw I didn't think that Trump got trashed. Some commentators said he did but I think it was just their personal dislike of him. He came out and addressed a few key points with a traditionally non GOP answer which was refreshing. When the others were just trying to get their Conservative ducks in a row. I think the public has been able to see through that self serving shit. As for Carly again she says nothing of substance (although to her credit she did give some specifics on what she would do to build up the military-I don't know if her stats were accurate but it sounded good) and irresponsibly calls Hillary a liar (with no proof). Even the other candidates didn't go that far (to their credit). She's just trying to make a name for herself. She's all bombast. In a debate Hillary would eat her lunch. PS after a shaky start Rand Paul seemed to get back on track with his libertarian anti-war agenda. And wouldn't back off of it.

come on PCL. twice this morning you trying to pick a fight that isn't there.

if they were saying that climate change was a myth, debunking science, etc.. I'd agree with you. But they didn't do that at all. At least the 2 people that were addressed the question anyway (Rubio/Christie). They both took a very reasonable stance IMO. They both didn't deny that humans have an effect and that we should be aware of that but that at this time specifically we need to focus on other matters and we shouldn't damage our economy for the sake of climate control. Christie had it as a higher priority than Rubio but both were fair stances.

Climate change will always be a political issue in regards to the federal government's work within it. It can be categorized as a political priority. The stances last night: Rubio and to a lesser extent Christie, were just about how they view it as less of a priority, not denying its existence. That's the take Republicans should've had for years. Its like you are making a rambling argument against them that doesn't exist.

I disagree with them by the way, not that I think climate change should be a higher priority but their take that you have to damage the economy to advance that priority. renewable energy jobs here at home is great for the economy.

Look Obama is taking heat for approving the Shell deal in the Arctic. He's not exactly abandoning fossil fuels. But he's also meeting with China to try to get more world wide cooperation on climate change. You're saying I'm rambling in a few sentences and you're giving paragraphs.

Just on a personality level, Cruz is the guy I hate the most. And given the competiton that is really saying something. He's snivelling, snide, arrogant, douchey, and not hte least bit convincing or persuasive. From what I can gather even people who agree with him on policies hate him. I have to seriously question why anyone thinks he would be a good leader and president.
