When they waited for mining companies to clean it up on their own: don't hold your breath. It could have happened to anyone, private or public. After years of private industry ignoring a serious pollution problem.

First you try to rip Bill Clinton for having some kind of sex with a woman 21 years old. And then you make a ridiculous statement that Reagan was cool because Taylor was hot and Lewinsky isn't. And now you say it was ok because the laws weren't on the books back then and that she was sexually active, anyways. As for the laws, it's by state but most states had legal age of consent between 16-18 by the 1920's. The bottom line: she was 15. Your hero was a douchebag.

    So much for integrity...

When Ronald Reagan was running for President in 1980, he sent the following letter to the director of the Professional Air Traffic Controller Organization (PATCO).
    Dear Mr. Poli:[IMG]
I have been briefed by members of my staff as to the deplorable state of our nation’s air traffic control system. They have told me that too few people working unreasonable hours with obsolete equipment has placed the nation’s air travellers in unwarranted danger. In an area so clearly related to public safety the Carter administration has failed to act responsibly.
You can rest assured that if I am elected President, I will take whatever steps are necessary to provide our air traffic controllers with the most modern equipment available and to adjust staff levels and work days so that they are commensurate with achieving a maximum degree of public safety….
I pledge to you that my administration will work very closely with you to bring about a spirit of cooperation between the President and the air traffic controllers.
    Sincerely,
    Ronald Reagan

And 8 months later PATCO illegally went on strike and Reagan fired most of the air traffic controllers. What's your point?

The point being the glaring inconsistency between "I pledge to you that my administration will work very closely with you to bring about a spirit of cooperation between the President and the air traffic controllers" and not supporting substantive negotiations prior to the "drop dead" decision. There were no clean hands in this episode and only dumb luck prevented disaster.

But at least you pointed out, that you spout off, without facts in hand.

Yes..18.7 billion. Most of which gets deducted from their taxes.

    Innocent? Fed's fault?

    Accidents happen.

If you don't like big oil, don't drive and fight for clean coal. Otherwise you're a hypocrite too.

    Well...he did adjust staff levels.

And...sadly he did not go far enough.

Firing the ATC's should have lead to the repeal of the right to any public sector employee to organize.

    Period.

So, please cite the law that was broken?

Bill Clinton perjured himself before a Federal Judge, and Obstructed Justice.

    Reagan fucked a young chick.

    Did you ever?

In California, the age of consent is 18.

    Period.

So if you had sex before 18, or with a another person under 18, you are also guilty of statutory rape and by your own definition a douchebag.

Accidents happen? With no regulation for sure. My point was in the first place that if BP was not grossly negligent they wouldn't have agreed to a settlement like this. Why would working people like you and like me be so sympathetic to large industries. If you're a free market guy do you really believe they follow basic capitalist principles. As for the environment why would anyone be against keeping it clean. If no regulation they won't do it on their own.

The basic idea of age of consent is that a minor isn't capable of making a decision like this. And she was 15. So what he did was against the law even if she was compliant. It's worse than what Clinton did. Monica was of age. And he was never convicted of perjury. Why would you even want to defend Reagan on something like this.

Ronald Reagan is the great Republican trap. He's the guy most responsible for the big government/credit card approach and yet he's also the one thing that binds the pre-Watergate Republicans with the post-1980 party.

So he becomes a venerated icon despite his tendency towards fallibility.

He was a winner and despite the fact that he left several major messes for the coming generations he's remembered for being a winner.

"It's morning in America." How long ago was that and how many trillions in debt?

Can't you just admit that Reagan was wrong. As a matter of fact he broke the law and could have gone to jail. Other people went to jail for doing it. It doesn't matter if Liz fucked everybody in Hollywood. If she was 15 she was underage and the law says she's not mature enough to make that decision. Reagan could have just said no way. Come back in three years, but he didn't.

Not supporting substantive negotiations? The union started out asking for a 20%-50% pay increase, a 32 hour/5 day work week and they also wanted retirement after 20 years. Seems to me the union was trying to hold the government hostage.
The FAA actually agreed to the shorter work week and a 10% raise but PATCO turned that down.

A lot of the strike had to do with the president of the union, John Leyden, being replaced by Robert Poli. Poli misjudged the situation and thought the government would cave. Leyden had previously said "we will not strike unless the political and economic climate are correct", even though they got the needed votes to strike, many did not think the climate was right.

I do find it gross but she confesses to being the aggressor. the times are different also, I know women from that generation that got married at that age. and after reading about her the impression I came away with is that she was an epic slut.

For reference this is a picture of her from the movie Cynthia which came out in 1947 when she was 15

The guy is 38 and she's 15. I don't care how beautiful she was or if she was promiscuous. How's about no excuses for a change. And secondly he eventually became the POTUS after being the Gov of a state. And the GOP screams about Bill Clinton who was also an unethical guy and they even impeached him. Here's an article about the GOP hypocrites who pushed for the impeachment. http://thinkprogress.org/politics/2...ublican-speakers-helped-impeach-bill-clinton/

I really don't care, I'm not a republican. I think most politicians are pieces of shit.

Interesting you don't seem to care about the Kennedy's gangbanging her
