Culture is strange. One thing that makes it happen is the number of people set on having a boy who wind up having a girl instead and decide they like the name they picked out and just give it to her, particularly if they're not planning to have another child. You can't do that to a boy because you'll kill him on the schoolyard battlefield but girls were kind of immune to that until recently when mean girls became acceptable. I still can't believe mean girls is acceptable and even expected at this point.

Carol and Carroll existed side by side in American and British culture for decades. Again, same pronunciation but the number of letters made all the difference.

I always thought Brook was a cool name for a guy. Long and cool with some depth to it.

0.036% of girls were named in James in 1930. It was ranked #323 in popularity as a girls name, which is waaaaay out there. But it existed. The more popular version of the name was Jamie. In 1989 1 girl was named James for every 189 boys so named.

I'm guessing Ryan Reynolds had one of three things going here:

    1. He really wanted a child named James Reynolds and he happened to have a girl.
    2. There is a female James Reynolds in the family a few generations back and he picked the name to honor her.
    3. He's a celebrity and celebrities are known for treating their children's names like an extension of their own ego instead of a good launching place for their child's ego. Moon Unit and Dwiezel Zappa would be the poster kids here for dad thinks too much of himself.

Ha I think he said it was in honor of a male ancestor. I was kidding anyways. I'm not a fan of getting your kid picked on to stroke your own ego

Can we? Who knows how to gender check a goat? Are they built like dogs where it all hangs out, or like cats, where it's a mystery?

Dweezil Zappa's name on his birth certificate was Ian Donald Calvin Euclid Zappa because the hospital wouldn't put Dweezil on the certificate. Frank later changed it legally to Dweezil.

Sorry big boss. You are right.

So who do you think will win Super Tuesday in 10 days? You think Trump can win in Bible belt?

Exit polls in South Carolina show that 3/4 support a temporary ban on Muslims entering the States.

In New Hampshire this number was 2/3.

Another landslide win for Trump today?
