It is against the rules but I am guessing it will be looked at on a case by case basis. It would probably not be wise to make a completely lopsided trade tonight and then a week later make another lopsided trade going the other way. That said, if teams are discreet about it I'm sure they can/will pull it off.
+1 on D Smith Racist.:breakdance: And its moolinyan...which is the American-Italian slaughtered aberration of mulignane or melanzana. I'm still trying to find out how that fucking Y got in there...
Well we also pretty much have exclusive negotiation rights with him... sure other teams can sign him but the compensation would be huge. He pretty much has to sign his long-term deal with the Jets, cave and sign the 1 year tender, or sit out and make no money. Works out better this way for the Jets, better than letting him have the ability to walk right away for no compensation.
But he could make everyone VERY uncomfortable and annoyed by sitting out until game 12. Under that scenario he gets credit for playing a "full" season and will be an unrestricted FA going into the following year. He will lose money in the short term but if is dead set against signing the tender he has every right to do this.
I'm actually thinking about a different scenario from the original poster which could be interesting. What if, for instance, the Jets draft a QB with their 1st pick with the purpose of trading the player to another team, but they are holding off till Monday to couple that pick with some other players? The problem here would be that the Jets and Team X obviously engaged in illegal player trade talks today prompting the Jets to draft the player on the other team's behalf. I wonder how this will be handled.
In Italian the "gn" combo in a word such as "mulignane" makes the Y sound. Not that I've used this word, mind you.....ok, I have.
I would think it's more likely that a deal is agreed to in principle, where St. Louis drafts, but does not sign the guy we want at #14, we draft the guys they want, and then we trade the drafted players & veterans once trades are permitted.
Stop fooling yourselves. Yeah, they are back in a sense but there is no agreement and they are far from really being back.
I have no doubt they will be playing football week 1. There are 9 billion reasons to think that is accurate
I always thought a moolie was a spicy fish. Now I know why my black waiter punched me at Legal Sea Foods.
This is very good news for us. Tanny has already proven that he can operate under the rules from last season, and if there's no "Final Four" rules even better.
