He showed a nice touch on short passes too in College and was one of the most accurate QBs in short passing as well. He needs time to figure it all out at higher speeds of NFL game. In College Zach had the highest overall passer rating ever given by pff. It's not just the long throws.

Thanks. I am rooting for him, and I hope he can put it all together before the Jets' village turns on him, and brings out the torches!

Kid has got to ease off the fastballs and throw the changeup on screens and throws that require more finesse than power.

He'll learn over time. He's still getting used to the speed of the NFL.

I think they are gathering up all the necessary wood, resin and flint.

Let's hope cooler heads will prevail!

I mean I get shaking ones head and thinking " Not AGAIN!" but to come to hard conclusions RIGHT NOW about ZW?

I'd guess most of those are people who nevere believed he shoulda been selected... wanting to support their initial position.

Actually no. I said at the start I hope I'm wrong about Zach.

However nothing I've seen from him this year has moved me an inch off of my initial conclusion that he's just another over-drafted unprepared pretty boy thrown out on the field for marketing purposes and we all know how those work out.

I can't speak for anyone else, but after years of following the Jets, you do tend to believe the "other shoe" is going to drop.

yes. its feels shitty to see the QB you picked high play badly. and one can start to make an assumption.

still quite early for that for me.

I hear ya, and I agree to some extent, but also think that's a bit of a unconscious knee-jerk emotional reaction, rather than a conscious, cerebral, rational one. We can resist that impulse and choose to have a different attitude.

Except I don't think he's getting used to anything. I haven't seen any signs of him adjusting.

Sounds like a textbook example of the application of emotional intelligence. ;)

There are none so blind as he who will not see. You're seeing - or not seeing - what you want.

So tell us what it is that you see that indicates Zach Wilson is getting better at viewing the field, deciding on what to do with the ball and getting it to his target. Please be specific, I've always been open to seeing whatever is out there; apparently your vision is better than mine. I'd like to see nothing more than progress.

I'm not going to reference video times for these things but if you watch the games you'll see that he's reading the field - even if he's not always doing it quickly enough - and throwing to the right targets most of the time - even if his accuracy and timing are off still. And while he started off slow, he eventually settled and started making plays and got the win against a better than advertised defense. Did he make mistakes? Asked and answered repeatedly. Does he need to improve? Of course! But he stayed within the boundaries that the CS laid out for him and didn't play hero ball as he's often done in the past, even though maybe he should've done a little of that maybe. There's progress being made if you want to be open to seeing it.

I DVR the games. If I have something else to do while the game is on, I just do it. If I happen to hear a score while I'm out, I don't worry about it.

I watch the games when I get home, and make liberal use of the fast forward button as needed.

    Whatever works I guess.

Desperate times. I did that last season, didn't yet this year but there's still time. I think at some point we all transform into championjets69, even the homers.
