Wow.......So, Rosa Parks was of "low and poor character?" Or maybe she was just "flat out stupid......"
I get that this way of thinking is common place among draftniks. Here's where I differ: There are positions in which it is ok to select guys who may not start under certain scenarios for a number of reasons...The positions: DL/DB/LB/RB/WR The reasons 1. Rotations- Keeping guys fresh & playing to the situation. The more high end players you have at the positions in question the better off you are 2. Injury related depth- Virtually no one stays healthy for 16 games anymore...and the one's who do miss 4 games for cheating(Tee hee). The more often you can avoid a drop off in talent..regardless of the position..the better 3. Player development- In most cases...players do best when they are eased into the system, given a reasonable amount of reps...and challenged to make strides that result in further playing time. This is also very healthy for a locker room pecking order. The modern player does not like to see some hot shot rookie handed anything w.o it being earned. 4. Match-ups- The game is becomming more & more situational...and more & more about match-ups. The more diversified you can be week to week & opponent specific the better off the given team is. Having guys w. different skill sets who still fit in the overall scheme in question is ideal. Of course all things equal if your choosing between 2 similarly graded prospects./ad one is from a devoid position while the other is merely rotational...of course you're gonna look to fill the true need. But I don't view someone who may not be a "starter" year one..but can contribute, provide depth & capable of starting both short term & long term....I don't view this as a bad thing. The more quality players you have in the fold...REGARDLESS of position; The better.
The arresting officer, Lt Ortiz, is not exactly a model officer from the Miami Herald article about Andersons arrest: "Ortiz, meanwhile, is just back from disciplinary desk duty. The local Fraternal Order of Police boss, Ortiz was stripped from his gun and ordered to desk duty after a judge granted a restraining order against Ortiz. The lieutenant allegedly harassed a woman who used social media to report another cop who was speeding. Ortiz retaliated by posting her phone number and personal information on social media. “He is a lunatic with a gun and badge,” the woman, Claudia Castillo, said of Ortiz when she filed the restraining order."
Thanks for this info. That could dramatically change this situation. It wouldn't be impossible that the cop was the aggressor and unnecessarily provoked and escalated this situation.
I'm also 45 yo and also never been arrested. Cutting a promising young WR for what could be an overzealous cop looking to make a name is stupid.
Recently suspended Lt, backstage at a concert, is about to dispense justice when a skinny kid violently obstructs it WTF the world is coming to!!!!

I'm sure in the unlikelihood the charges aren't dropped the NFL will wait till the legal process gets done. Could be a whole nother year before they decide anything.
Niceee! wouldn't be a true jet without following up a promising rookie campaign with a felony charge!
