How is already having 228 receptions, 3,055 receiving yards and 20 TD receptions before even completing your 4th season considered as garbage @ the age of only 23?!?

Here in 2020 Big Ben is spreading the ball around but JuJu ranks 1st on the Steelers in Target's (28), 1st in receptions (23), 2nd in receiving yards (194), 1st in catch rate percentage (82.1%), 2nd in TD receptions (3), 2nd in 1st down receptions (11) and more importantly opening up the field for their rookie in Chase Claypool while being undefeated @ 5-0.

And in 2018 recorded 111 receptions for 1,426 receiving yards, 7 TD receptions and made the Pro Bowl as only a 2nd year WR!

Garbage? Cmon man Jet fans would give our left nut for us to see DENZEL MIMS putting up these types of statistical production...

And last but not least, he's a team player and great for their locker room. He just mentioned to the media that he's not upset about not getting as many Target's as usual because his team is 5-0 (most fans consider WRs cancer when they complain and he's being the opposite).

With the cap space we'll have and with Mims and Crowder already in place? I'd love to see us draft Trevor Lawrence + sign both of Allen Robinson and JuJu in order to finally invest big money into our offense.

    QB: Trevor Lawrence.
    WR1: Allen Robinson.
    WR2: JuJu.
    Slot: Jamison Crowder.
    WR4: Denzel Mims.
    LT: Becton.

That's a great start and Trevor would immediately have weapons everywhere.

And if we're to draft a RB such as Travis Etienn with our 1st round pick from Seattle or Najee Harris?!?!? Our offense is already ready to attack.

Q would thrive on that Washington line. I would take their second for him.

Yup. While keeping offense in mind.

I'd use that 2nd round pick from Washington on a RB to help compliment Trevor Lawrence on Alabama's stud Najee Harris who reminds me of Derrick Henry!

And that's after taking Lawrence #1 overall. A WR with Seattle's late 1st round pick and an O-Lineman with the 1st pick of the 2nd round (our pick).

I'm willing to watch JD deplete an already bad Defense with hopes that we'll soon feature a high octane offense so I can change my TGG user name to OffenseWinsChampionships

Vikings just traded Ngakoue to the Ravens for a 3rd and a conditional 5th. I know he comes with a larger contract but that still seems like a steal. It seems like D line isn't being valued much right now so we might as well keep Q.

He’s on a rookie deal so teams with cap issues may take the risk.

Fair point but those fans will get to see four/five first round picks before you get to celebrate a playoff game featuring the jets.

    So the question now is...

Which one is the lunatic fan?

Washington not trading top 2nd for him, they are in same boat as us! It would be contending team. Someone drafting around 20-32 in 2nd round.

All about concentrating on the offense god know we haven’t last 10-15 yrs! But with late 2nd round pick, would have to get a good player! I don’t know the analytics, but what’s the chance of getting pro bowl player with the 40-60 pick? When holding onto QW for another year, and try to get a 1st or keep him if pro bowler. Just not realistic to think getting fair return back from a late second, like winning lottery really.

Juju is tied for 85th in the league in receiving yards on a whopping 28 targets through 5 games. He was great when antonio brown was drawing double teams and has been crap since. Last year he had 552 yards in 12 games. Sign that beast!!!

Wow, he really dropped off with no #1 WR for defenses to focus on. I'd much rather sign Robinson even though he's older and draft a WR by the end of day 2.

You're going to mention last year without mentioning how Ben missed 14.5 games last year? Weird.

And as already mentioned in regards to 2020 Pittsburgh is running behind Conner while Ben spreads the ball around but JuJu ranks 1st on the Steelers in Target's (28), 1st in receptions (23), 2nd in receiving yards (194), 1st in catch rate percentage (82.1%), 2nd in TD receptions (3), 2nd in 1st down receptions (11) and more importantly opening up the field for their rookie in Chase Claypool; while being undefeated @ 5-0.

He’s 1st in targets which includes Deontae Johnson being wr1 26 targets in 4 games which including two games that he got injured in the first quarter of each. Juju will be 3rd in targets on his team by the end of the year unless clay pool or Johnson misses more serious time. He is the third best receiver on his team.

It's amazing to me that a lot of Jets fans want to trade away our players that we drafted in the first few rounds so we can draft other players in the first few rounds.... We have to build around SOMEONE

I agree, but I think something to keep in mind is that this coming free agency is not going to be bringing in star players for the most part. The way they can take advantage of the situation is to add a significant amount of depth that normally it would be difficult to do. If the cap goes the way I think it will, what I’m seeing is instead of getting 1 solid player for $7mm you can get two solid players of that same quality for $3.5mm each.

It could result in the Jets being able to accumulate 4-6 $7mm players when normally you’d go get 1-3. It will not change the franchise at face value but that could be an excellent chance to blast-infuse high quality depth to a bunch of positions.

That indeed could be the way he handles FA, but hope it isn't. Normally, that's the wisest course, but imo Douglas needs to vary from that approach and sign a topnotch WR in FA and draft one in 2021. I think the same goes for the IOL. I'd rather see him spend $15-20 million on a WR and $8-15 million (whatever the going rate is for starting OGs) on a starting-caliber OG in FA, than sign 4-6 depth players.

Regardless of whether we get the #1 pick and take Lawrence, or trade down, or wind up not getting the 1st pick and roll with Sam, we need a proven IOL to protect our QB and to open some holes for our new RB, and we need to give him a proven WR other than Crowder. Hopefully, Mims can prove himself during the rest of the season, but we still need a veteran. With a much lower cap, a number of teams with cap issues, he should have an opportunity to get both a topnotch WR and OL, and sign a few depth players, be they new players, or re-sign some of our own.

Great post. I feel the same way.

    1st overall = Trevor Lawrence.

Allen Robinson FA WR + 1st round WR with Seattle pick.

Joe Thuney FA Guard + 2nd round Center (our first pick of the 2nd round).

    QB: Trevor Lawrence.

    WR1: Allen Robinson.
    WR2: Denzel Mims.
    Slot: Jamison Crowder.
WR4: 1st Round WR (Seattle pick).

    LT: Mekhi Becton.
    LG: Joe Thuney.
    Center: 2nd round rookie.

I'd then look for an exciting RB during the 3rd round.

The left side of our O-Line would become A+ and Trevor Lawrence would have weapons everywhere @ receiver.

Fuck Defense. I'm sick of defense. This off-season is where JD turns out future offense into an explosive one so much so where we have a 1st round rookie WR as our FOURTH (4TH WR)!

GM's rarely value players they inherited from the sad sack that got fired to get them the job. Most of the time the roster gets turned completely over when a new GM comes on the job.

The Jets have a unique situation in that they fired their GM post draft and post-free agency in 2019. This effectively made their 2019 draft void as the new guy was unlikely to value the picks the last guy made.

I would not be surprised to see Quinnen Williams traded for a 2nd round pick at this point. Yes, he was the #3 overall in the 2019 draft however like many of Mike Maccagnan's picks that was just the place he was selected, not an indication of his actual talent.
