I would take this report with a grain of salt. Easy to say in March, but if Marqise Lee or Mike Evans is torching secondaries, do you think they will have Geno ignoring that guy and handing the ball off to a RB?

Under 20 passes? If that's truly the case, they need to get a new QB.

I don't buy this report. I think there was a breakdown of communication somewhere. If they don;t trust Geno, they would just get a new QB like Vick or in the draft instead of shifting to a strategy that hasn't been seen in the NFL in a long time

Roethlisberger threw 21.7 passes a game for his first two seasons.

Well if that's the case than they better upgrade the run game/OL and the even the defense. As they stand now neither unit can support 11 for 20 passing every week. I want to see 85 bears and 150 yds per week on the ground.

Stellar run game and steeler D. Our current D is close but need the edge speed. Our run game and OL has to be improved to match what they did with Bettis

Yeah but if it is true, this could be Idzik and not Rex. Just planning accordingly based on what they have. Who knows maybe they draft a QB at #18 if Bortles falls or if they like Garoppolo

This is complete BS. MM will not run a ground and pound offense. This is probably BS the jets are releasing to screw up other teams expectations of who the jets will draft and who they will pursue in free agency.

It could be Idzik, but I doubt it. We have that same kind of crap from Rex repeatedly over the years. That's one of the reasons I don't like him. He knows nothing about offense or developing a young QB, and plays conservatively "not to lose" rather than the aggressive way he likes to convince us that he plays.

I'm not that high on Bortles, but would be very happy if they drafted Garoppolo.

Garoppolo looks legit but he's going to be picked likely in the beginning of round 2. It's obvious to everyone Rex has no clue on offense but this isn't an instance where he's coming out and saying we're gonna ground and pound. Jets need to play to their strengths many times last year we would have been better served to run it rather than have Geno try to sling it out there. I think Idzik wants to give Rex a solid defense and grabbing Verner and Clemons would do that. Draft a linebacker early and it's going to be tough to move the ball on us

    Utterly moronic if true.
    Yeah, exactly.

Do these number predictions ever work out, anyway? The Jets in 2012, the Vikings with the Randy Ratio, etc. Privately, teams probably do this sort of thing. Publically making these announcements? Moronic in many ways.

And if you want to ruin Marty Morningwhig then do it, we might as well find a new OC if this is true.

It's a silly report......the Jets were just there with Sanchez. It could be a plant from the front office in terms of draft strategy.......but a bad plant at that. Most of the Jets draft will be centered around playmakers.....

If this article is accurate, the jets have no faith in geno. It's a passing league. Your only going as far as the qb takes you. Might as well draft another qb if this is right. I doubt it though

Seriously, is anyone taking this as legit? Hopefully incarcerated bob chimes in soon to set the record straight.

If this is true you need a different QB. Just a waste of an offense, an OC, and puts way too much pressure on the defense.

I read this on my phone. I think it's BULL. I want to pass more. I'm so fucking sick of "ground and pound."

Let's get a great offensive line, and top RB before we declare abandoning the pass game, when that's going to be the one area we probably upgrade the most this off-season. It's like signing Melo in free agency, but then having him come off the bench. I hope this report is just smoke.
