I just can't see this happening, if if was it would happened already. Sent from my wey aye phone using Tapatalk - now Free
Sign him, play him, and make him honorary captain for the Ravens game. Have him stroll out of the tunnel dead last....the Ravens fans would go nuts with applause. It'd be awesome to see. Then cut him right after the game  (jk)
Obviously he's lost a few steps and not 2005 Ed Reed, but if he has any game left could be used situationally as a ballhawk "centerfielder" as Rex dialed up some crazy blitzes. :metal:
If this were the off-season, I would agree. But the Jets have positioned themselves to make a playoff push down the stretch. Nothing is guaranteed in the NFL and Jets fans should know this more than anyone. Denver looks like the only unbeatable team in the AFC, but what if Peyton goes down? Did the Jets look like a "win now team" midway through the 2009 campaign? This move would provide locker room leadership and a guy who knows the system. Very little downside to this signing.
All it takes is getting into the playoffs and then everyone is 0-0... This team I feel can beat the chiefs, colts, patriots, and even bengals.. Our toughest challenge would be the Broncos but if our defensive line comes to play and Geno has no mistakes we can make a deep run. If Reed wants to come for the cheap, fuck it... Can't hurt us can only help... Even if he doesn't really play the mentoring would be tremendous for Allen, Bush and even Milliner...
Let's all relax on the super bowl talk LOL. Calm down here guys. Still I think for young players like Allen, as long as it doesn't infringe upon too much of their time, having a veteran presence like Reed could only help. The two players that would feel the biggest crunch out of this are Jaquan Jarrett and Josh Bush. Considering we already have a young safety who's distinguished himself as being better then those two, I have no problem bringing in Reid at one of those players expense.
You keep fuckin saying this? What are we then? A win later team? EVERY team in this league wants to win now. There is no such thing as rebuilding. You find pieces and fit them in as need be to win games.
Na, that's very unlikely. Reed would sign a 1 year deal to probably retire next year and Wilson as a 4th year player wouldn't give his number for a half a seasons worth of games.
Chris Mortensen @mortreport 2h Ed Reed's options included the Jets (possibly) but not the Patriots, Ravens or Colts. Not sure about Saints. As of late last night. This guy will be a Jet by the end of the day tomorrow.
You posted that, but a source next to Reed said that he will sign with the Pats. This was as of this morning: http://bostonherald.com/sports/patr...3/11/source_says_patriots_in_play_for_ed_reed
Saints might be a better option for Reed as they can use the help there and he can piggyback on Rob Ryan and help that defense. However, he has that Rex connection and it goes deep
I mean I'm taking everything right now with a grain of salt, but the Patriots rumors are getting louder
@FanIQ According to #ESPN, the #Colts and #Patriots do not seem to be interested in S Ed Reed. Continues to be interest by the NY #Jets. 10:20 a.m. Thu, Nov 14
