There was a rumor on Campbell before: Though he won at Auburn, he showed nothing to merit valuing him as an NFL qb and he still has shown nothing. This would be a disasterous deal. No way Mike T would make a deal for him, unless he has a 3-way where he is passed on.

    Jason Campbell >>>>> Josh Freeman

I'm not Campbell's biggest fan.....but he's got the tools...and Mr.E's right about him being a smart kid. I think he would be a good fit in what Rex wants to do with the offense.

The difference between Campbell and Clemens is....we know what Campbell can do with a suitable oline a great run game.....Clemens is still a question mark. What Clemens has....is that he knows Schotty's system inside and out.

Look at HOW Jason Campbell won at Auburn: the Tigers had a duo of top five running backs in Ronnie Brown and Cadillac Williams...they ran the ball down everyone's throat and killed teams with the play action pass.

Campbell completed 70% of his passes for 2700 yards, 20 TDs and just 7 INTs.

He'll never be a franchise signal caller, but he's the perfect game manager...perfect for a team that lacks a #1 wideout and wants to run the football.

Yeah, when I was listening to McShay this morning on Mike & Mike, he was like, "I heard from a reliable source in the organization that such and such will happen." Who in their right mind is going to tell that guy anything? If I were a GM I'd start a pool to see who could get McShay to report the most ridiculous offer. I too think that we're throwing everybody off the scent.

I agree his stats are awesome, hence, why he was drafted as high as he was. He pushes the ball when he throws. Do you agree?
Also, I know you know a lot about College F. Do you happen to have an intelligence score handy for this kid? If he's 90%+ ok--game manager.

Yup i agree, and you want to know the stupid thing, with all this speculation flying around I think Tannenbaum wants to goad some stupid team (Denver anyone?) into trading up way high (say like 4-6) and taking Sanchez before the Jets have any "realistic" shot at getting him, then Tanny can justify trading down to the fanbase. and say "we just couldnt get up there to get him, he went to high and we didnt have the ammo." It is freaking perfect in my opinion.

And the really stupid thing would be if Sanchez actually slides to 8, and nothing happens. then the Jags are forced to pick, then he falls to 9, at 9 the pack is forced to pick, then at 10 the Niners either get him or pass again, and the son of a bitch falls right into the Bills laps at 11. the jags dont need a QB, the Pack doesnt either, so if he is sitting there at 8, he will still be sitting there at 10.

Trading up that high is retarded. you could trade to 10 for cheaper and get him. I honestly think Mike T has a trick up his sleeve in doing all this, he is either trying to bait somebody into trading up to take Sanchez which causes somebody to fall to us at 17, say Maclin for instance? or when 17 strolls around if that guy doesnt fall, oh well no harm trade back with a team like Zona for 31 and Boldin we give them 52, or an even wackier scenario we trade down with the Browns who move back into round one for Braylon Edwards.

It's not overly insane, the Browns are sitting with pick 36, we give them #17, we get Edwards and their second, this trade down equates edwards to the value of pick # 48 overall. Note the Giants didnt even want to offer more than their second and a 5, that trade value total equates to 57 overall pick in the draft. Plus the browns get the first round pick they covet, they can get lineman their offensive or defensive, linebackers will be on the board, as will Pettigrew, so its not so insane imo.

Ryan is way smarter than this. Jets aren't revealing any real credible info. right now and that's a good thing.

There's a reason the Skins are shopping for a QB (Cutler, Sanchez) because they already know Campbell is mediocre.

Pushes the ball? To me, he looks like he has a pretty strong arm, especially when he has time to plant his feet and launch one deep.

I don't know how smart Jason Campbell is? It's not like I sat with him while he took the SAT...

His father is a high school football coach, so that should explain his high knowledge of the game.

The guy is incredibly smart on the football field and that's all that matters to me.

He has a nasty play action, reads defenses well, and has the pocket presence of an aged veteran...the perfect game manager.

Is that a QB that we are not going to be linked with?? Campbell is a game manager, would prefer him to Sanchez but at the end of the day i will take Clemens and our picks over both.

Or because Campbell isn't flashy and Dan Snyder is an attention whore?

...he's a lot like Pennington mentally, but Campbell is way more athletic and yes, he does have the stronger arm.

I haven't studied the Washington game play-by-play but I did not see high intelligence in his games at Auburn. BTW, I was referring to those intelligence scores that leak out every year regarding the players. I cannot recall the name of the test right now. It's not Weschler--something else--Harvin scored borderline retarded.
Well, whatever. If Mike T and Rex agree with you, he might be in Green.

Get him he's perfect for our team! He's a game manager and never turns over the ball and thats exactly wat we need. He's played on a run first team with ( portis and betts) and could easily fit into our system.Plus he's 27 which is very a solid age. So i sayy go for it! Give up a second or third and We'd b set with a great QB!

Campbell is very solid but I dont see Tanny trading for him. I think they can get the same production out of Clemens.

Tanny is really throwing some crazy stuff out there now. He will either go for Sanchez or trade down for BPA. I dont see him doing anything other than those 2 options.
