You don’t find the humor in that? I think it is funny. Of course it doesn’t make him a bad GM. Just reminds me of something you might see in a Curb your Enthusiasm or Seinfeld episode.

Sorry, I didn't realize characterizing this as a firing offense represented jocularity.

It’s an idiot mistake to make and it was funny.

Winning changes everything...Mac can stick around as long as the team keeps winning and reaches playoffs and that's all on the HC and DC... (Gase/Williams)

Mac has always been a strictly Average GM ...and I've posted that before , like Colorado C said for every good move he makes there are 2 bad ones..do you guys want mediocrity from Management ? I don't ...if his seat is hot he prob was told to step it up after the Turk spared him and got Bowles. I hope he's motivated to keep his job. I think having Peyton M here as GM or Pres of Football Op would actually help the Johnsons avoid so many mistakes in the future. Would a Manning take the job when bro plays for Giants?? Hmmm..

Mac has to find chemistry with two fairly fired up brainy Coaches ( as opposed to half dead Toilet)...his picks are still questionable...he gets lucky the way he did with Darnold. Plus, he's full of it when he proclaims " never Draft on need" ...Darnold was clearly a need..That's all you plan for not 60 DLs who are "potentially great players"

Good thing we're sitting pat not doing Jack shit.

But we're "trying" to move up. Isn't Mac great?

I honestly think they can’t afford to. Getting out bid by teams that have 2nd rounders this year. These trade ups haven’t been enormous.

And it would surprise you if they did it? Chris has been better than Woody, but that's not saying much. Woody is beyond moronic imo.

Aside from losing Belichick, Woody had a nice run as owner until 2011. We made the playoffs more times than not and were one of the better teams in football. So the bar Chris needs to clear isn't impossibly low.

Mike Lombardi has ties to the Patriots and is a personal friend of Bill Belichick.

Oh yeah......his son worked for Todd Bowles and was recently let go.

We need to see exactly how many more wins (or losses) we get this year after Macc's 4th draft. He has to show his picks, his FA's and his vision will start producing results on the field. No one will care about the new unis if this team sucks again. Macc had $100m at his disposal so, let see how well he "shoppped for the groceries". Maybe 4th time is the charm.

In most of his stps, good enough to get him a HC job, In Miami, he ended up with a 7-9 record with an injury riddled team and Tannehill at QB--Tannehill, now the backup QB in Tennessee--and even Tannehill wa shurt some of the time. So......

I agree the GM should hire the coach. I completely disagree that he was a shitty coach. Ryan Tannehill is a one read, low ceiling QB. And he was hurt. Gase had nothing to work with and a lot of injuries. 7-9 in mIami last yer was not terrible.

These rumors from Lombardi and Nimbley of Gase making a power play, causing trouble in the building and being an @#$% sounds like Miami all over again and why he should never have been hired. If true, I don't think you can fire your HC and GM in April but they both need to go after this year.My thought is we have a bad start promote Williams, fire Gase and get rid of MAC after the season.

Both of these guys need to understand if they dont win this year and if they don't get along they are both gone. Pretty depressing to hear and these were the fears of Gase critics and exactly why he was fired prematurely in Miami. Part of me feels bad for Chris Johnson having to deal with this but it also sounds like he is the one who wanted Gase.

What a shitshow. Mac should've been shown the door along with Bowles as already stated.

The Jets will never get it right.
