I’m not Macc’s biggest fan but only the Jets would let a GM spend a zillion dollars in FA, make all the draft picks including #3 overall THEN fire him.

Yeah. The Jets did Maccagnan dirty. Not that I give a fuck...but it's putting so much stock in Gase, it's unreal.

The NY press was only blasting the Giants for being incompetent so the Jets wanted to reclaim some of that territory.

Imagine how shook the players he drafted or acquired via FA this past off season are.

Let him spend a 100 million and make the 3rd pick and then fire him. This has a Phil Jackson feel to it.
Not sure empowering gase so much is going to be good for the franchise.

We don't know how much control he had in the draft room..... He may have been told what was going to happen

Chris Johnson clearly picked Adam Gase as the coach.

Knowing Mac and his conservative approach, his pick was probably McCarthy.

Yeah everyone is confused about giving Gase the keys to the castle when he hasn't accomplished anything.

Jets are the best in the league at taking 2 steps forward, then taking 10 steps back. Can't believe we didn't fire that fucker in Jan, when I said they should have.

CJ you letting me down man.

The only team I can think of that did something similar was the Chiefs 2 years ago. But Reid had earned the right to run the team his way with his track record. Gase has not.

That says it all. This is all on Chris Johnson. I thought Mac should have been fired along with toilet but this timing is a joke.

Can this ownership do anything right? They’re already the laughingstock of the league (even Cleveland finally got it right) and now they lower the bar to depths not seen before.

The Jets and Browns should switch names, we should be the Browns because we are a heaping pile of shit from the owners on down

Macc should have been fired mid-season last year so that the new GM could have diligent prep time for draft & FA. He wasn't, so then certainly he should have been fired at seasons end alongside Bowles, right? Wrong.

To fire him in the middle of May is a real foul move by Christopher Johnson.

Gase is Chris/Woody's new toy, so he can do no wrong. They'll tire of him soon enough, and they'll then make their next SOJ move. The Trust Fund Twins are up to their usual antics.

Can some one help me with this? What has Gase ever done that makes him think he's the second coming of Belichick, Parcells and Lombardi? More importantly, what has he ever done to convince Woody/Chris that he's the second coming of Belichick, Parcells and Lombardi?

Forgive me TGG friends but IMO this is a cluster fuck clueless leadership team. The timing is disgusting, the idea of giving Gase more responsibility in the midst of his first season trying to develop a winning young team is insane, and sending Heirmerdinger who could hold the fort for a few months packing at the same time indicates to me the Johnson twins have zero plan moving forward. Stability, proper transition and continuity has great value, Unfortunately we have none of it.

Why can't the Jets just have a normal offseason for once? Or at least deploy time tested, well proven, strategies for things like management?

Step 1a: Wait for the end of the season (by calendar date or date eliminated from playoff contention)
Step 1b: Don't give into the temptation to do weird, out of the box, shit
    Step 2: Fire GM
Step 3: Fire coach, staff, etc
    Step 4: Hire GM
Step 5 and all other steps: Let the new GM figure it all out

I mean, this works, right? It works for everyone else and has worked for years and years. Why try to reinvent the wheel in the worst possible way?
